music before and after the meeting and zoom

Recommended Posts

We have a very standard A/V setup (branch recommendation).  One PC serves as zoom and media.  Line out goes to input on the mixer.  We would like to play music before and after the meeting, doing so also effectively turns on the zoom audio feed which means any conversations bleed through.  I have thought of two solutions:

  1. open windows volume mixer and turn zoom volume all the way down.  This seems the easiest for after the meeting.  The volume level auto resets the next time zoom is launched.  The operator just needs to remember to restore the level prior to the meeting starting
  2. force everyone into break out rooms, yuck
  3. keep all zoom users muted, even yuckier

without re-wiring / changing hardware any other ways that we can play audio before and after the meetings without interference from zoom?

We just use cheap external sound card on PC:

we put it into PC USB and use it as a separate Zoom output. We set the external sound card as an output device in Zoom audio settings.

So we have 2 separate fiders on mixer - Zoom output and general (muzic and video) output.

Before meeting we play audio, disable video and sound in meeting Zoom and close Zoom fider on mixer.

Then sound is played in auditorium but not heared in Zoom.
