iPad to iPhone JWL restore issue

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I wonder if you’re able to help me. I have an iPad, previously I have been able to airdrop or save to cloud and restore, from my iPad to iPhone. However, since the new update earlier in the year that brought in playlist, when I attempt to restore on my iPhone a JWL iPad backup, the phone doesn’t process it. It doesn’t come up with the prompt to restore a version/days old to version/days old.

I have tried to backup data from iPhone to iPhone and it’s not a problem, I have tried backing up data from iPad to windows PC JWL, and it’s not a problem. The problem appears to be when transferring data from iPad to iPhone.

Anyone able to help please? I would really like to have all my study notes with me as I’m out and have the ability to study while in commute.

Device details:

- iPad Pro 2nd Gen, iPadOS version 17.0.3

- iPhone 15 pro max, iOS version 17.0.3

- JWL version 14.1 (on both)

Just wondering if you have resolved this issue now?

I'm considering switching from android to iPhone so that my iPad can share data with my phone?

1 John 4:1 "Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Nope, not resolved. There appears to be a data type conflict between the way the data is saved on an iPad and iPhone. Prior to this issue, it was great because using airdrop I could easily transfer between iPad and iPhone. But not no way to transfer data between, and I’ve done many different tests.

Sorry to hear that, maybe use the iCloud to share your data?

Now the issue isn’t so much transferring the data, as I have tried saving iPad to Dropbox/iCloud/Email and trying to restore it on the iPhone. It seems how it saves on an iPad isn’t compatible with the restore of an iPhone.

I must say, I am missing being able to do prep in commute and having all my study notes to hand when out.
