Tips for travelling on a budget

Recommended Posts

I ended up not being able to save my seat, so this flight will be a learning experience.
It was a real struggle weighing out the price of the flight with price of accommodations, and I wanted to avoid Eastern Europe for fear the fighting in Ukraine might spread there. I would have loved to have seen the Baltic region, but I didn't think it would be safe. So I settled on Bavaria. It looks like it has stuff that would appeal to all of us, and isn't as expensive to get around as some other places I looked at like Switzerland.
Since I've booked, though, David encouraged me to get ChatGPT4, and, I wish I had it before booking, because it has a Travel Guide GPT, and it's AMAZING. I got all kinds of advice on it from good daytrips, to itineraries, to rail tickets, to advice on what to do with luggage, and all sorts. I'm sure if I could have asked it for a good destination with a balance between cost of flight and cost of accommodation that isn't too crowded any given time of year, it would have given me so much more help, and I would not have had to be obsessed with the problem for a month or so.
I'm going to get it to help me book my accommodation for America.
