He was a wonderful man, very respectful of Jehovah's Winesses. A brother who I was very close to was interviewed on his Dayton show about how he taught those who were developmentally disabled to work on cars,  the kindness of our brother led Phil to question him about how he developed such patience.He gave all the glory to Jehovah and gave Phil literature. Through the years Phil had other interactions with Jehovah's people who he greatly admired and said so in many interviews.

I shared this about a year ago or so. But with Mr. Donahue's death I thought I would share it again. Here is the introduction paragraph on Youtube: "On April 30, 2010, television icon Phil Donahue and Greg Peterson, co-founder of the Robert H. Jackson Center, traveled to Atlanta to meet with Lilian Gobitas-Klose. Mrs Gobitas together with her brother were the named parties in what 1940 Supreme Court case Gobitis(sp)v. Minersville (Pa.) which held that mandatory salute of the flag was constitutional. Her Jehovah Witness' beliefs prohibited the practice and she was forced to leave her school The case was overturned by the 1943 Barnette case with majority opinion written by Justice Robert H.
