Jehovah's Witnesses will convene at War Memorial

JOHNSTOWN — This summer, for the first time since 1962, the group will be back in city with 12,000 people expected to attend events at the arena. The convention will draw members from three states for four three-day weekends beginning July 20.

About 30 congregations, including those in Windber and Johnstown’s Benscreek and East Hills areas, will be split among the four weekends.

But before the conference begins, several hundred local members of the group plan to give the arena a thorough cleaning. Charles Scott, news service overseer for the assembly and an elder in the church, said the pre-convention cleanup is a tradition.

Funny....... Most peaceful people in the world is meeting at War Memorial.

People of the world are amazed that we go in and clean these auditoriums prior to our programs. We are spiritually and physically clean in all aspects. It is nice to see news articles that put Jehovah's people and His name in a favorable light.
