Four Indicted in Death of 28-Year-Old Union Woman

Recommended Posts

The above is the title of the new. I was trying to copy and paste but it is not working 😌

I wanted to share because I was very impressed with the way the case developed. The woman was a regular pioneer/ commuter in our area and a close friend of the daughter of a very close friend to me.  The four man indicted are her close family. Her father and her 3 brothers. At the time time of her death, her father and her oldest brother were elders and her youngest brother was a bethelite. It was a shock to say the least. The branch got involved and I think somewhat the Holy Spirit because the media never mentioned the fact that they were witnesses. The father and the oldest brother lost their privileges a couple of weeks later. The youngest brother who was spending the weekend with his family never went back to bethel. They all continued to go to the meetings and field service until their arrests. The father ended up a few weeks before the arrest being removed. Something interesting happened related to the funeral. The family had a funeral after the body was released by the police, my close friend saw in the news and wanted to go. She asked an elder in her congregation and the elder discretely told her that the congregation was not part of that and that the sister was going to have a funeral at the congregation and that she should wait. She was very disturbed because no explanation was given and she wanted closure. The elder is a bethelite . The funeral at the congregation did not happen yet. But now we know why the elders decided that the congregation was not going to be involved. Meanwhile several members of the congregation were interrogated by the police and fully cooperated. Nobody knows what evidence the prosecution has and I think that they overstretched when they charged 4 man with the same crime. Some will walk. Her father most likely did not tell the elders all that  happened and when the police came with some evidence he ended up being removed ( my speculation)

Good grief!!!  What possible reasoning did they have going on in their minds that made this ok?!?

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

If she died from a cardiac event related to being restrained, then it sounds like they tied her up for whatever reason and she died somewhat unintentionally, ie. the goal wasn't to kill her. I just wonder what reasoning they could possibly have to all unitedly decide it was a good thing to hold her hostage. 😠

I have one theory, but I'll keep it to myself - rumors in cases like this can cause problems.

Thanks. I still don’t know how to do that.
the charges indicate that they did not have the intention to kill. My theory is that they restrained her , left her in her bedroom and when they came back she was dead , had a heart attack. What I wonder is if when found out if they immediately called 911 or waited for some reason. The trial will give all the details. But in reality no one knows what really happened and they seem to be protecting each other. Maybe the truth will appear at the trial

The article said the cops responded to a welfare check, so the family didn't call 911 or an ambulance when she had a heart attack. We also don't know if she was found in the restraints or if she just had injuries indicating she was restrained. That would give us more information on what state she was in when her family left her there.

Let's stop and consider how we would feel if there was an accident in our family and our own brothers and sisters around the world started discussing it and speculating about what happened.

CAUTION: The comments above may contain personal opinion, speculation, inaccurate information, sarcasm, wit, satire or humor, let the reader use discernment...:D

All this info will be revealed only during the trial. What we know for sure it is that the brothers contributed in some way to her death although unintentionally. And the father somehow was more involved because he went from being an elder to completely removed.

I would completely understand due to our complex and imperfect human nature. And what people speculated or not would be the least of my concerns when I was charged with manslaughter and the victim is a close family member. But I don’t know about everyone else. Maybe some would care about it.

Not just the Father.

Only the father was removed and the brothers lost any privileges they had. One was an elder and the other a bethelite. But they all were charged and somewhat involved.

"removed" and "lost privileges" sounds the same to me. Is there some distinction?

She was more than just restrained.
Is compressional asphyxia similar to what some of the reports of police putting their knee in the neck area to hold someone down?

And yeah. Not calling for medical assistance was just awful.

According to Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cho, the Union County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as cardiac arrest following physical restraint and compressional asphyxia.
