I just learned that Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls) was for a brief time one of Jehovah's Witnesses when her family joined, however they ended up leaving because it wasn't for them.

we are sad when people stop associating with us, but we welcome them again, if they come back.

My nerdy butt is gonna see her at a convention and be like "🎶If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get back with Jehovah <3" 🤓

The TV show "Scrubs" featured Witnesses at least twice. One episode involved a patient refusing a blood transfusion. It was a pretty funny episode and was respectful regarding our stand.

The other episode featured the mother of one of the doctors. She was supposed to be a Witness. None of her lines came across as specifically like a Witness but instead more like any moral church lady. Nothing doctrinal mentioned.

Of course Jehovah's name in Indiana Jones.

This week's episode of FBI featured a government project called the Jehovah Protocol. It was a sophisticated nuclear weapons attack protocol.

I thought the exact name was "Project Jehovah".

Personally I didn't like the name of it.

"there was Jehovah’s word for him, and it went on to say to him: “What is your business here, E·lijah?" To this (Elijah) he said: “I have been absolutely jealous for Jehovah the God of armies"- 1 Kings 19:9, 10 Reference Bible

Hard for me to find positive examples. Tried looking up some on YouTube, but even those which are okay examples had unsettling comments in the comments section. Just got to be extra careful there…

I did find a clean skit mentioning the witnesses and even the Watchtower magazine. Featuring the dangerous “land shark”:

Serves him right. I would never open the door during a land shark alert.

There was a Dr. Blake episode in which a JW young man (initially the murder suspect, since he was first upon the scene) suffers a knife attack and need an operation. Dr. Blake is about to perform one, then he checks himself with “Wait! This boy is a Jehovah’s Witness. He can’t have blood!” Whereupon he performs the operation with saline solution, not complaining even once that his “hands are tied” or that “What kind of religion would refuse a life-saving blood transfusion?!” He made not a single such complaint. He just did it:

Of course, I guess the whole point is moot today. Maybe he’d do it that way, maybe not.

Social media person Courtney Budzyn is one of us… I think.

I found her totally by accident, or rather my daughter did.

We love dogs. We share clips of dogs with each other across all media platforms. And one of the sweetest dogs is (was 🥺) Tucker Budzyn. She has his YouTube channel and Instagram I think and my daughter follows Tucker and also Courtney’s personal account.

So she sends me this pic of Courtney all dressed up and she says, “Notice anything????”

Sure enough down in the very corner clipped off by the angle of the camera is a convention badge! We were floored! Because we didn’t have any idea and didn’t watch her because of that. But in looking over her entire catalog of videos, never was there a mention of holidays or dressing Tucker up and saying “Happy” whatever holiday.

Of course I have no definite proof. Never met her or anything nor does she confirm anything. But a cool find since it was incidental. Truly a “JW in the wild” moment for us.
