Dear brothers and sisters.

I have obviously hit a nerve with my article about eating healthily. I have been overwhelmed with too many responses to deal with - some of them very defensive and accusatory.

I regret publishing the article - not because I think I was wrong, but because it may have caused offense to some of you. I did not intend that, and I apologise.

My article was written out of genuine love and concern for all my brothers and sisters.

I do not have the time, or mental energy to respond to all of the comments, so i will refrain form writing about this subject on this site.

Your brother,

Steve

It can be hard not to occasionally offend someone, even in our own relatively small congregations, so it's no surprise that in a large 'congregation' of the size of jwtalk, that something said might become a problem for one or two. Your fine words do you credit, Steve.

Thank you, you too.

Reminds me of today's day text on being 'reasonable'. I recognize for myself (for my own sanity and inner-peace) that it is wise to think of most of what I hear in terms of fact and opinion. As we know, there are tons of ideas and some (more or less) "settled science" on what is good for us health-wise. But only Jehovah who made us really knows down to the finer details. We do the no-brainer obvious good things to keep ourselves functioning well. Like many things in life, healthy choices are a person's own responsibility in the end. Just like our whole Christian course in life.

As Brother Mike said: "Your fine words do you credit" 👍🙂. You obviously had no ill motives.

Steve, there is a wide range of mental, spiritual and emotional maturity on this site, and I love the variety. There are members from all around the world that freely offer their unique viewpoints based on their maturity and culture and I enjoy every comment. However, as you have discovered, that wide range of personalities brings a lot of opinions, and some are expressed better than others. I appreciate your love and concern for your brothers and sisters, and I love your humility. Please forgive me if I contributed to any negative feedback you received.

CAUTION: The comments above may contain personal opinion, speculation, inaccurate information, sarcasm, wit, satire or humor, let the reader use discernment...:D

Steve, everyone on here has an opinion. Not all of us are going to agree with posts. I have had my share of comments mostly positive and some negative, that's to be expected. Do not regret sharing your views of eating healthy. If you reach one person you have succeeded. People, including our brothers and sisters are going to say things, even to the point where we feel they are negative to what we are posting.

Please do not let some slow you down in what you want to post. I live by this motto: "Don't let someone else's opinion of you become your reality".  You have three brothers on this site pulling for you, that being Carlos, Jerry and Mike. All of these brothers I value and yet at times I have had different viewpoints from time to time.

Sadly, I see that Steve is now a former member. I was hoping he would have seen that the negative commenters are in the minority here. I have gone back and looked at few more profiles with members who were hurting just to see the same status. Sometimes it just easier to leave than to deal with negative comments or deal with others who may lack tact.

Sadly, some members are not expecting the reaction they get here, and they decide to leave. It's a good reminder that we need to be kind and loving in our remarks at all times.
