JW Gift Ideas?

I don't have any suggestions for gifts that are material things, unless the intended recipient is in need of something specific. For a CO, I like to give a nice card of appreciation with a small gift of money so that they can use it to buy something they need or spend it on a dinner. They probably don't need extra things to carry with them, unless you know of something they need.

Life as a pioneer taught me to simplify my life. I'm more practical and not sentimental, so when people asked me about giving gifts, I always said I really don't need anything but if they insisted then I would mention stamps or something that could be used in the ministry. I found that when I received other types of gifts, while I appreciate the thought, I really never used them and felt guilty about it and didn't want people to waste their money on something that wouldn't get used.

So, I think you have to know the recipient, their lifestyle, and what they like.

It also depends on what types of things you can make. I turn wood so I have made small wood bowls or boxes for gifts - something like this:

I recently made little tic tac Bibles, I’ve also done similar with the pioneer school book in the past

Oh yeah! Love that idea, thanks 👏🏻 I guess that’s not too difficult and it could be adapted to other things too. I’ll think on that, and try something. ☺️

Oh yeah! They’re lovely. It’s nice you have a skill that you can use to make a nice, natural and useful gift. Not that o have those skills ☺️

Yes I agree. Usually i do something similar for CO as you say, they can’t carry much and maybe money is a practical thing for them.
I do always try to do things that I can try to make myself and aren’t costly.
During the pandemic 😷 I bought a box of Bic pens and printed little messages like “the pen is mightier than the sword” and suchlike and just wrapped them around the ink insert. Even now, some still have them or mention them ☺️ Something small, simple, fun or practical to put a smile on their faces.

I’m currently looking for ideas for our CO and his Wife, it’s their last visit with us in a few weeks

Yes it’s the same for us in a couple of weeks. As someone else mentioned we generally do a card and a contribution. Sometimes a digital gift card so they can use when and where they want. Other times, we’ve made a card with a photo of cong or something a little more sentimental.

One of the gift I gave to our CO last year was a picture I printed out, it is a collage picture indicated when was that taken, when was the visit done, and also what congregation. I also put it into a holder so that they can hang it somewhere. It's nice to give it to them to remember us whenever they go. They may forget the names to those people they encounter, but the memories of making spiritual things will last longer.

Lovely, now I would use that for multiple purposes. It is quite beautiful and something handmade is very precious. I would treasure that ❤️
