Kindle Paperwhite

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've already looked up the Pros & Cons online, but I wanted input please from those that already use a Kindle for secular reading. Do you prefer it over reading on a tablet? Can you PDF our literature to read on the Kindle? Will purchased books sent to the Kindle be "always" mine? 📚 Pros & Cons from YOUR perspective please. Read Beauty And The Beast GIF by Disney

Well amazon having some shady business practices so people losing books lately, of course there is a way to jailbreak the device so you can transfer all the pdf books you want to read for free.

But overall the device is really great, the screen is different from a normal tablet so the reading experience is better

I bought, and still have, one of the original kindles over a decade ago.  It had buttons to change pages and did not have a touch screen.  It had a keypad like a typewriter.  and you had commands for various menu functions.  I later bought a kindle with a touch screen which my wife used.  I used a program called "Calibre" to convert ePub files to Kindle format.  I really enjoyed it because it was light and could hold thousands of books.  I even used it at the Watchtower study sometimes while others were still using paper magazines.

I recently bought a Kindle Paperwhite.  Thew old Kindles had to have light source to read them.  The Kindle Paperwhite was lit up so that you could actually read from it without turning on a light.

I much prefer reading from one of my Kindles to holding a book or a heavy tablet.  It is lighter and easy to handle than a book or a tablet.  And it keeps track of where you are in each book you have been reading.

Consider also the Kobo which has the same display tech but includes a browser and ability do download ePub files directly from our website.

eInk is a great display technology to read on, although since a lot of our publications now include videos, it may seem less practical.
