The video talks about very large numbers and to think that Jehovah said to Abraham: “I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky”. It is inconceivable.

There is no information I see that enables us to verify the credentials of the person talking, or the reliability of his sources of information.

 

If you scroll down past the first clip, there are other clips that seem rather "fanciful" including a machine supposedly traveling at the speed of light. If this machine really existed, we would expect other "mainstream" media to pick up on it and we would hear of it in other places.

 

Having said that, in general what he says is in line with many comments we have heard or seen from supposedly reliable documented sources. So, even if it is not entirely correct, it is in line with other information we have received from "accredited" scientific sources.

 

I helps us to appreciate the awsome power of Jehovah. According to this item, and what we hear from other "scientfic" sources," the universe is so vast that the light we see from stars originated from a location so far away from us that it has taken thousands, or perhaps hundreds of thousands, of years to get to us (possible farther if the more "outlandish" numbers we sometimes hear are accurate). 

 

The scriptures tell us Jehovah knows each star by name. How can  he see, and keep track of, these stars that are so far away? Does he have spirit creatures (angels?) near these locations? If so how does he communicate with them in any "timely" manner? 

 

Mankind claims that light is the highest know speed at which anything so far identified can travel. How can he communicate if the fastest thing takes thousands of years to get from one place to another?

 

He apparently has communication ability far beyond anything we as humans can comprehend.

 

The Bible is written in terms that humans can comprehend. It makes reference to Jehovah's awsome power, but it does not attempt to overwhelm us with detailed information (which we probably could not understand even if it were presented).

 

Since it is written so we can understand it, it refers to Jehovah in masculine human terms. We really do not know what the nature of his existence is, whether it is something physical, or something else that we do not yet comprehend.

 

What we do know of him is contained in the Bible. As far as mankind has been able to research, once one accepts the existence of Jehovah, the Scriptures are consistent with scientific knowledge, and they explain things that "pure" scientists (i.e., those who do not believe in Jehovah) cannot explain (or at least their attempts at explaination fall short).

 

We can be assured that the information in the Scriptures is accurate. There have been too many prophecies (and other items) in the Scriptures that have come true, or have been scientifically verified, for us to have any doubt that the Bible is TRUTH in the absolute sense written in a way that humans (even with limited scientific knowledge) can comprehend.

 

So, we can take comfort in the knowledge of his unlimited power and boundless energy. We can be assured of the things the Scriptures tell us he will accomplish. We can have faith in "the new system" and that it will accomplish all of the things promised in the Bible.

 

The fact that the earthly organization that he has raised up at this time is able to function in 240 lands (per Brother Lett's comment in the latest Governing Body Update) so smoothly is further evidence that he is behind the earthly organization that bears his name. NO OTHER organization on earth operated in 240 lands as smoothly as Jehovah's earthly organization does. His organization even manages to care for his dear ones in those countries (i.e., man made political divisions) where men have attempted to stop his work.

 

No other organization on earth is as genuine in caring for dear ones. Some organizations may claim to be, but on close investigation they fall short.

 

Jehovah does not use perfect men (because there are no perfect humans), but he uses ones who have demonstrated their faithfulness and loyalty to him and his principles.

 

The vastness of the universe described in the URL reference just serves to remind us of the limitless power he has that enables him to organize the universe. And it help us realize the intelligence and "engineering expertise" it took to put all of that in place where everything works according to dependable patterns. 

 

And with all of this power, energy, and intelligence, he is the most loving creature we can imagine. 

 

Just the fact that he set up the Kingdom Arrangement, with the Ransom Provision, when Satan rebelled tells us of the extent of the love He, and His Son, have for their human creation, and the extent to which they are willing to go to provide for their human creation.

 

Just as he has shown this love to us, we should show our love to him.

You make some interesting points for consideration, James. Good to remember, though, that Jehovah cannot be likened to a creature, as he is the creator.
