Part 10: Precious in His Eyes

Some moments feel like endings, but in Jehovah’s eyes they are beginnings waiting to unfold.

The room was hushed, lit only by the soft glow of a lamp. Machines hummed quietly, but Anna’s breaths were shallow, uneven.

Her parents sat close, each holding one of her hands. Michael stood at the foot of the bed, his jaw tight, his eyes wet.

Anna stirred, her lips moving. Her mother leaned close.

“Don’t cry for me,” Anna whispered. “Jehovah promised…I’ll wake up. And it won’t be long now.”

Her father’s voice broke. “We’ll see you soon, sweetheart. In the new world.”

Anna’s eyes fluttered open one last time. She smiled faintly. “We are still here. We are still standing.”

Her chest rose once more, then stilled.

For a moment, no one moved.

The hum of the machines seemed louder, cruel in their indifference. Her mother bent forward, clutching Anna’s hand to her lips, sobs breaking free in waves.

Michael pressed his forehead against the foot of the bed, his shoulders shaking, whispering her name as if it might call her back.

Her father sat frozen, tears streaming silently down his face, his thumb still stroking the back of her hand long after it had gone still.

At last, with trembling fingers, he reached for the diary on the nightstand. Its cover was worn, the initials nearly faded, but it felt alive in his hands. He opened it carefully, and between the final pages he found Anna’s own notes...scriptures, prayers, and one trembling line written in her hand:

Jehovah, I stayed loyal. Please remember me.

He pressed the book to his chest and whispered, “He will honey, he will."

Michael, tears streaming, whispered a prayer for the first time in months: “Jehovah…please take care of her until we see her again.”

The next day, brothers and sisters filled the house. They wept, they prayed, they sang softly. One sister said through tears, “Anna showed us what faith looks like.”

Her mother nodded, her voice steady despite the grief. “She wanted you all to know...Jehovah never left her side.”

And then, beyond the veil of human sorrow, the heavens took note.

Jehovah’s gaze rested tenderly on his daughter. His voice, deep and steady, filled the courts: “Precious in my eyes is the death of my loyal one. Her name is written in my book of life.”

At those words, a hush fell over the angelic hosts.

Hundreds of millions of warriors bowed their heads, their armor gleaming in the light of his throne. Their wings folded in reverence, not in battle readiness, but in solemn honor of a life lived faithful to the end.

At the front, astride his white horse, the King looked on with blazing eyes...not yet to ride, but to bear witness. He, too, remembered.

On Earth, a grieving family clung to one another in tears. In heaven, a name was held secure in Jehovah’s memory...the safest place it could ever be.

The bowstring of history was still drawn, the Kingdom still ready. And though the command had not yet been given, one truth was certain: Anna was remembered. And in Jehovah’s time, she would rise.

Beautiful ! Thank you so much for this story !

We need an epilogue when Anna is waking up, and is welcome by the first Anna ?

Spoiler

Or... what about having the first Anna, in heaven, having a gentle smile and nodding, just behind our King

I'm glad you liked it, and yes, at some point I may go back and write some like that, it was a thought tugging at the back of my mind.

The first Anna likely died before Pentecost 33 CE.  Better to have them meet in the NW.🤔

the first Anna of the story is a girl who lived in 1914 time

This was the setting of the diary, it was during the time of Br Russell and others before and during the outbreak of world war 1.

Thank you for reading it and responding, it was a deeply personal story for me to write.

I'm glad that it touched you, and I'm sure you will honor Jehovah with the same spirit 😊
