Inappropriate ads on Video Games

Recommended Posts

I enjoy playing puzzle and strategy games that challenge my thinking, and I don’t mind watching a few ads in exchange. However, lately, many of these games have begun showing inappropriate and suggestive ads, which has led me to delete several of them. I refuse to tolerate such content and won’t continue playing games that display it. I also worry about how often children encounter these same types of ads in games meant for them.

I have reached out to the game developers, but I believe they are only interested in the revenue the ads bring them.

From the heavens to the height so true Praise Jah let it flow through you

One of the best ways I've found to completely do away with ads is using a dns service that blocks such content.

One such example is

https://adguard-dns.io

The best way is create a free account and follow the setup guide to adjust the dns setting on the device. There is some limit for the free account, however it's high enough that you won't reach it with normal everyday usage.

I feel your pain. I had to uninstall some games because of that. I noticed though that if you opt in to ad tracking they show you more tailored app and that’s why I rarely see any disturbing ads.

🙏 Thank you! 🙏

Not knowing type of ads you are getting that are inappropriate, I will say I get tired of the ads promoting gambling sites or games. Other than that, I haven't gotten any disturbing ads.

I have gotten sexual ones, women barely clothed. Some have used profanity. That's just on puzzle games .

Seems the great opposer has a number of tricks we should be wary of. Your comments were a reminder of the records that have a message on the reverse. This phenomenon of playing records to find different messages, known as backmasking involves recording a message backward onto a track intended to be played forward. Messages found through backmasking can be intentional, used for artistic, comedic, or satiric effects, or they can be unintentional, a result of the brain's tendency to find patterns in meaningless data, a psychological phenomenon called pareidolia.

I am not yet wise, but I am on the long road that gets me there - Prov 9:10
