2026 Governing Body Update #1

Recommended Posts

Two things Brother Cook introduced that will  help toward the goal of covering a chapter per week with our students:

Consider the first few paragraphs of each  lesson as an introduction and try not to get bogged down by reading those paragraphs. Rather it was suggested that the student should be asked to read those ahead of time during their preparation to facilitate a brief discussion. And then move on to the meat of the lesson.

Also consider what you know about your student while preparing for their study and decide which videos apply. It was noted that it may not be possible in all cases to use videos because of lack of an internet connection. [Or,  as is the case with my husband conducting studies inside a prison, where a device is not permitted, you are unable to use videos at all]. In those cases you just proceed with the written material.

There were many more suggestions (updated direction, according to Brother Cook) that will be very helpful in helping our students progress faster and enjoy their study. I love how the slave has done a deep-dive into what they have taken away from the past 5 years experience and synthesized it as “lessons learned,” so we can be even more successful going forward.

About JWTalk.net - Jehovah's Witnesses Online Community

Since 2006, JWTalk has proved to be a well-moderated online community for real Jehovah's Witnesses on the web. However, our community is not an official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or maintained by any legal entity used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We are a pro-JW community maintained by brothers and sisters around the world. We expect all community members to be active publishers in their congregations, therefore, please do not apply for membership if you are not currently one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
