Could I Get Your Help Choosing the Best Version of a Song I'm Submitting to the Branch?

Recommended Posts

Hello dear brothers and sisters,

I was hoping I could ask for a little help from all of you.

Some of you may know (from my profile), I’ve been working on writing original, spiritually upbuilding songs. It’s something I’ve really grown to love doing, and my goal has always been to use it in a way that could honor Jehovah and support the organization.

I recently created a song called “GOALS!” and ended up making 14 different versions of it, each with a different style and feel.

I’ve been thinking about possibly submitting one version to the branch for consideration for an original song or video—but honestly, I’m having a hard time deciding which version would be the most appropriate or effective.

So I thought I would ask the friends 😊

If you have a little time, would you be willing to listen and let me know which version you feel is:

  • the most upbuilding
  • the most fitting for our worship
  • and the one that stands out the most to you?

If you’d like to listen, you can find the versions here:
GOALS! (All 14 Versions)

No pressure at all—only if you have the time. I would truly appreciate any thoughts.

Thank you so much 💙

In order of preference:

9- adds a genuine sense of fun and whimsy with the horns that I think will appeal to "the youth"

5- feels contemplative and soothing with the female vocals. Her voice is a mix between being a youth and mentoring one

6- young man, sounds like original songs I've heard before. It has a youthful male voice that sounds relatable.

I like 5 because her voice doesn't sound out of touch. She sounds like she either is a youth or just barely past it, like she's giving advice to peers. For 9, even though his voice is older, the horns add such an unexpected note of fun that I think it would make it easier to "follow his advice" - it doesn't come across as a lecture from an older guy who "doesn't get it". I would send 9 and 5 as the male and female versions. If they decided to use the song they might even do a duet with similar voices, but I hope they keep the horns.

Good job. 🥰

I prefer Country music and, at this point, it seems we only have one Country original song so I would pick one of the Country ones.

That said, the female vocalist doesn't really sound Country to me. I like the music from Version 2 but the male vocalist in version 4 sounds more Country. I would pick version 2 sung by vocalist 2
