Sound like i've got a cold after i sing?!

Recommended Posts

For some reason i find that after i've sung (pretty badly too but i enjoy it) that i sound like i've got a cold and end up sneezing quite a lot. But, when i sing in Talent shows etc, it doesn't seem to happen.

Am i the only weird person?! :blushing:

I don't know if you know Julie Andrews. She stared in the Hills are Alive With The Sound of Music, I remember hearing an interview. She said she always seem to sing through her nose. I think she said. that before she went on stage she would have. Some warm water with a spoon of honey & a little lemon juice. She found it helped her to sing. I am not a good singer. But at least you give it ago..

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

We had singing lessons at school, so even the worst of us had a chance to get our breathing and range improved. I missed them when I left and I want to do the best I can at the K. Hall so as not to put others off!. The nearest I could find on the Internet are singing lessons and warm-up excercises by a singer Eric Arceneaux:

I am still not a good singer because I have catarrh which causes coughing and interferes with breathing and limits my range. It's a pity because my family was quite musical - Grandad was an Opera singer in our area years ago and my Mother sang in Musicals put on by the local Operatic/Musical Societies before she came into the Truth. Before she had a stroke - which took her sight and most of her voice away, I loved standing beside her at the Hall listening to her singing the Kingdom Songs and trying to emulate her technique to stay in tune. Look forward to the New World where we can learn and enjoy singing properly to God's Glory and our pleasure.
