The Child Abuse case of the famous late British DJ Jimmy Saville (see other News thread) prompted the UK Government and the Police to request that people who were abused, but not believed years ago, to now come forward and their claim will be treated seriously and investigated. So far in that case 450 persons have come forward. These victims also named other TV celebrities and executives, who have also been arrested for questioning. These TV celebrities apparently held 'after-show' parties and invited children from children's homes - on the surface it was claimed this was for charitable reasons, but these parties soon became more secretive and private and were used to take advantage of these vulnerable children. It now transpires that Invited to these parties were other prominent people in the government and industry. So the Police are now investigating politicians and other prominent people.

It also transpired that the children were brought to the parties from homes run by Church establishments. People are coming forward who were abused by clergy or proffered for abuse by clergy from these homes. Now investigations also include those coming forward to the Police who were children abused by clergy in the general Parish population, but not from children's homes. This whole thing is escalating. These latest reports regarding the Church of England/Anglican Church are all part of this enlarged investigation process.

Paedophiles can hide what they are and infiltrate any organisation they think they will get away with their activities, so organisations cannot necessarily be always blamed when such devious characters are discovered. It very much depends upon how the abusers are dealt with thereafter. However, what is questionable in some of these cases is where clergymen were still kept on as priests or even became priests after they were convicted, instead of being disciplined and kept out of positions where they could still have access to children.
