Won a prize:dance:

Recommended Posts

I answered a trivia question at our local library branch and they emailed me today to say I have won a prize!

Don't know what it is yet (probably a book) but that made me happy.... something to look forward to picking up later in the week when I am over that way!

:bouncing:

Ooooo....you will have to tell us what you won!Yeah!:ecstatic:

Last year during our local poetry contest I suggested to my friend to enter this beautiful poem she wrote at the local library and she won grand prize!

She read it on local TV and she was in the paper... She got a huge gift basket... It was truly a beautiful poem I was so happy for her.

When I was about 8, we had a contest at school. We had to write an essay about our mom and whoever won would get a dozen red roses sent to their mom. It was for Mother's day, and I probably shouldn't have written it, but I was 8 and I figured I wouldn't win anyway so what was the harm about writing an essay about my mom. I figured she wouldn't fine out about it, lol

Well, in the entire school, my essay won. So on Mother's Day my mom got a dozen red roses delivered to her with my essay framed, lol. On one hand she was proud of me for winning and writing a great essay about her, but on the other hand, she is like "Ava, you do know we don't celebrate Mother's Day, right" I think Jehovah had a hand in my winning so that way my mom would find out I did something for Mother's Day, lol.

Congrats Beth on your win. Let us know what it is.

When I was a teen, I entered a contest at our local hardware store for a complete tool package worth over $300 but it was a Father's Day contest :scared: and wouldn't you know I won. They put a big poster sign up at the front of the store with my name saying I won. An elder in our hall congratulated me as he had seen the sign!

Although he didn't say anything more about it - I was sure careful after that about what I was entering for contests!

I gave the tools to my dad. He still has some of them and that was 30 yrs ago.

I often win store promotions - I think many people figure there will be lots of people who enter but in actuality few do bother so you have a higher chance to win there.

We have won a BBQ ; a basketball net; whole baby set up- car seat, bathtub, high chair, toys; gift certificates; cookbooks; a high unpainted wooden stool; tickets to circus, African lion safari, etc.

We went to Papa John's site before the Superbowl and picked the coin toss - we won a large pizza :eat:

Oh I lost that!

We had a contest for Goshen Dairy ice cream here, which I never buy but I decided to get one, so I got Cookies and Cream...and won the $75.00.... It is the only Goshen Dairy ice cream I have ever bought.
