3 Sundays ago during the watchtower study, a new bible student gave a comment that had the whole congregation laughing and the poor the conductor turning beet red out of embarrassment. The paragraph was about loving our neighbors. When he was given the comment this is what he said.. " Jesus said to love your neighbor, Not to make love to your neighbor".. Talk about funny.. Has anyone else had a similar experience like this with bible students in their congregation?

We were at our Chinese meeting at Carlisle a few years ago. We were covering an article about Christian conduct as part of the Book Study. A paragraph spoke about clearing out of our lives such 'defilements of the flesh' (2 Cor 7:1) as cigarettes, recreational drugs, betel nut etc.

A little old Chinese grandmother got up and walked down to the front of the Hall passing 3 generations of her family who were attending as well as Chinese students and the rest of the group and stood in front of the study conductor's lectern. She pulled a coloured string out of her pocket with strange looking large nuts/seeds hanging from it.

She announced "I learn now, I not do these any more, Thank You!" She put her hands together and gave a little bow in the old traditional Chinese customary way and returned to her seat.

The rest of us in the Hall, though a little stunned, were pleased for her:crush: and gave an applause and we carried on with the study.

Is'nt that wonderful! She was so appreciated and made that sacrifice right in front of everyone. So much pressure when you make that commintment in front of so many people. I love to here things like that.
