Yes...I love rice....I make lots of it.

Baked Rice Pilaf....

2 Tablespoons of butter

2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil

1/2 of a medium onion,chopped fine

2 cups of long grain rice

3 cups of chicken broth

Pinch of saffron ( if don't have it Turmeric)

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne powder

1 1/2 teaspoons of salt

----------------------------------------------------------

(Heat oven to 350 degress F or 175 degrees C).

In skillet brown onions for 6 or 7 minuits in the butter and olive oil,remove from heat.Add the rice and mix well.Pour into a 9 by 13 baking pan.

In s sauce pan combine the rest of ingredients and simmer 5 minuits after coming to boil.

Pour over the rice and bake 35 minuits, let cool for 5 minuits out of oven then fluff with fork.

I add thawed baby peas and a little finely shredded carrot at the end.

You can also substitute curry for the spices.

We have brown rice.

Jasmin. Normal white.

In the Asian market there is red more like beetroot color & my fav. Is Basmatti. Its Indian has a beaut flavor with curry.

I have been to a restaraunt & had Pilaf. I would love to

Make it.
