Apple Pie Moonshine

Recommended Posts

Ingredients:

1 gallon apple cider

1 gallon apple juice or a can frozen apple juice mixed with 4 can of water (lrg can)

3 cups brown sugar

8 cinnamon sticks

1 T of vanilla and 1/2 cup pancake syrup

liter bottle of 190 proof moonshine or grain alcohol

Directions
  1. In a large stock pot, combine the apple cider, apple juice, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
  2. Bring it to a boil, then take it off the heat and allow it to cool completely
  3. Add the liter of high proof liquor.
  4. Pour this into mason jars, put the lids on, and let it mellow out. You could drink it right away, but it does get better after a couple of weeks.

This recipe makes about 9 quarts of apple pie moonshine. You could easily cut this recipe in half if that is too much.  You could cut it half but WHY?

Vodka will work since it has little flavor of its own. Everclear is recommended since it is a 190 proof grain and has no taste. The higher the grain the better because when you dilute it with so much juice it really is no more than a flavored liqueur . I don't know if you have Everclear there or what an equivlient is but you could ask or just ask for any tasteless, high grain alcohol to transport the taste.

I hate moving. Are you mostly packed? When is the big day? It is always so stressful and exhausting to me.

My date is still uncertain. we have had so much rain too. Glad not to have muddy pathways again.

We just got back from W:A last Friday. So kinda still in that moment. Then its the official school Holidays tomorrow.

Have some things packed will start doing more next few weeks.

I just remember we have a Dan Murphys liquor store. they have a monster range of bourbons, Tequillas and other goods from all over the world. I will look for what you mention or maybe online.  Thanks for the heads up,
