  1. I hope that brother Elijah has found success in reversing his illness. It would be nice if there were some feedback, as before he left JWTalk, he seemed to have a good attitude about taking the time to research and understand the causes and making plans to change habits, lifestyle and mindset to reverse the illness so that he could better serve Jehovah. I'm glad there's a growing wealth of well documented experiments and case reports/studies now that prove what modalities of treatments actually work and the common hypotheses about metabolic physiology to be wrong.
  2. I'm very sorry to hear that happened to her. Still, the same methods mentioned in reversing T2D are also very effective in managing T1D and allowing such ones to live a much happier and long life. T1D is quite rare in comparison to T2D. I did miss the sentence where the AI mentions reversing T2D specifically, though it started off in a way that confused me as it wasn't relevant to the thread's focus of T2D. I understand that not all autoimmune conditions can be reversed over time even when maintaining strict habits due to significant organ damage, I live with some myself that would come back if I returned to my old diet. I mentioned one case of T1D, but there are now many such individuals keeping their T1D under control with very low levels of exogenous insulin and non-diabetic blood levels. Here is what another AI references about managing it specifically with the same methods many have shared regarding T2D, along with the case report for the second: "Long-Term (10-Year) Ketogenic Diet Study: A notable case report followed a patient with T1D who adhered to a strict ketogenic diet (\le50\text{ g} of carbohydrates per day) for 10 years (Koutnik et al., 2024). The patient achieved exceptional glycemic control with an HbA1c of 5.5% and a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) time-in-range of 90%, all while experiencing a 43% reduction in daily insulin requirements. Crucially, the 10-year follow-up showed no adverse effects on kidney function, thyroid function, or bone mineral density, though LDL cholesterol did increase (Koutnik et al., 2024)." (as I've mentioned, studies now show that a proper ketogenic diet is cardio-protective and the high LDL has no merit on atherosclerosis over time) "Adult Management Case: Another case report followed a male in his 20s who slowly tapered down to a strict ketogenic diet (Gardemann et al., 2023). His diabetes biomarkers improved to the point of hitting the official non-diabetic range, his overall quality of life improved, and his total daily insulin requirements dropped significantly by 70%." Here is the second's case study: https://edm.bioscientifica.com/downloadpdf/view/journals/edm/2023/3/EDM23-0008.pdf Note some of the very positive benefits and absence of adverse events that can be maintained in spite of T1D if you stick with it: "It could even be argued that the patient is less prone to the dangers of diabetic ketoacidosis as his low glycemic variability stops blood sugar levels exceeding certain values, while diabetics following the standard approach show higher glycemic variability (Fig. 5). During the reported timeframe, the patient did not suffer from any acute illness. During the follow-up period, there was not a single incidence of severe hypoglycemia which has remained till today. There was also no incidence of ketoacidosis. Arguably, the most important change seen from this treatment was the significant increase in the quality of life of the patient. Due to the extreme reduction of blood glucose fluctuations and reduced HbA1c values, the patient reported more energy, clearer thought, the ability to focus better, decreased hunger urgency and the overall feeling of greater safety and security in the management of his disease. We have to keep in mind that such a diet needs to be followed for the rest of the patient’s life in order to achieve that tight glycemic control. Transitioning to a ketogenic diet may initially appear to be limiting from the outsider’s perspective but once the dietary commitment is consistently adhered to, people report high levels of satisfaction and satiety from protein and fat-focused meals. People following a ketogenic diet need to plan their meals when eating outside of the home. The beginning of this diet seems to be especially difficult for most people as they experience carbohydrate withdrawal and tend to crave sweets and carbohydrates."
  3. I agree with 97% of what you're saying there, I just want to elaborate on one point a bit. Don't forget that Jehovah is the one who changed the dietary guidelines. He is the one who put the fear of man into the animals and the desire for animal flesh into man and the ability to digest it with a stomach pH of 1 and less than 5% waste as stool. I believe that he did this because we could no longer get much of what we needed from the trees or bush, since he cursed the ground and changed the climate. (Genesis 9:2) "A fear of you and a terror of you will continue upon every living creature of the earth and upon every flying creature of the heavens, upon everything that moves on the ground and upon all the fish of the sea. They are now given into your hand." (Deuteronomy 12:15) “But whenever you desire it (“in all the desire of your soul.”), you may slaughter and eat meat, according to the blessing that Jehovah your God has given you in all your cities. The unclean person and the clean person may eat it, as you would eat a gazelle or a deer. (Deuteronomy 12:21) If the place that Jehovah your God chooses to put his name is far away from you, you should then slaughter some of your herd or some of your flock that Jehovah has given you, just as I have commanded you, and you should eat inside your cities whenever you desire it ("in all the desire of your soul.”). ...I did end up going off on a bit of a tangent here, I apologize. For many people, especially mothers and babies, ones in recent generations born with chronic illnesses due to the nutritional deficiencies in their mother and suffering from the herbicides killing our microbiome and gut lining such as myself, or ones dealing with chronic serious metabolic disorders as in this thread's case, the conversion ratio of nutrients in plants into the forms that our body actually uses are so low and the amounts needed to thrive are far beyond the 'recommended daily allowance', it's often unattainable for such ones even with a balanced vegetarian diet, even if eating to excess or juicing. The simplest methods to get what our body's need to grow or heal is to eat an excess of bio-available fatty acids, nutrition, and minerals that are in a ready to use form, which is primarily found in fatty fish and ruminant organ meat. It's somewhat ironic that one of the fastest ways for obese individuals with diabetes to lose weight is to eat only a high fat diet. This allows your body to learn to adapt to processing and metabolizing ketones efficiently, it reverses the state of metabolic slowdown and constant hunger by providing satiation. In the cases where someone has an acetone body odor when you're referring to detoxing, fasting, herxheimer reactions, or the 'keto flu', that isn't a toxin, but excess ketones that should pass once the body's cells have adapted to using them as the primary fuel source instead of glucose in the absence of glucose. This is healthy and essential to healing from metabolic illness, provided that you have already reduced the insulin resistance to the point where you don't maintain high blood glucose levels, which could lead to ketoacidosis. Fasting helps do that before you change your diet itself.
  4. I understand and quoted that. I just can't comprehend how anyone or anything can say that it can't be reversed or how they define the word "reverse" when there are so many documented cases of people that have done just that: achieving 100% remission of all symptoms and no longer meeting any of the diagnostic criteria. (Proverbs 30:8) "Remove untruth and lies far from me." Here's a link to just one case report of thousands shown at 1:05 in the video. There are plenty of books and newer videos from many doctors all over the world showing similar cases.
  5. I know that I have lost control of my emotions several times around this issue. I've done wrong when I've judged others for what they choose to eat. (Romans 14:3) "Let the one eating not look down on the one not eating, and let the one not eating not judge the one eating, for God has welcomed him." I am sorry for acting that way and if in doing so I have caused you any harm or offense. I do want to clarify and help you to understand that at least in my case and possibly others, my anger towards vegan diets in particular is not about attachment to meat or food. There are other reasons why people rightfully get offended or upset. I'd watched several vegan/plant based documentaries in the past and done a lot of reading into it. My personal anger stems from having been lied to when I was sick and vulnerable only to end up even worse off (I believed their claims without physiological proof due to my delusional state at the time and without understanding the physiology due to my cognitive dysfunction), for the children who have suffered and died from vegan diets (while I do believe that whole food plant based diets are less toxic than what most people eat today, I do believe that they are insufficient, and there are now laws in some places to protect such children), and from my own failure of not realizing that those diets were based on the teachings of demons among groups such as the Seventh Day Adventists and Latter Day Saints.
  6. I don't get this 'definition'. If diabetes causes damage to cells through glycation from fructose and glucose and alcohols, and changing your diet flips insulin resistance to insulin sensitivity and allows for your cells to start healing again... is that not "reversal"? I've said it before and I'll say it again, but complete remission with T2D is entirely within the realm of possibility for most people without drugs or exercise or fasting. I'm not saying those things can't help in specific scenarios. It's known cause is the types of macronutrients in your diet over time, so the cure is simply adjusting those to a type that allows your body to use up what it has already stored. Once you do that, the ongoing damage stops. You may not be able to reverse all of the damage done to the organs or certain parts of the body, but our body was specifically created and designed to reverse the disease itself. There are many animals such as bears that induce insulin resistance in themselves, followed by hibernating to reverse it. Not to say that it doesn't damage their bodies, but Sumo wrestlers do something similar. Because of their extreme strength training regimen, much of their fat is stored subcutaneously rather than viscerally, meaning it does less damage to their organs and allows for easier reversal of their weight when they retire. Not long back, a new documentary was released called The Cholesterol Code. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GS8ZFCYN/ It's focused on a study of Cholesterol and the phenotype of Lean Mass Hyper Responders (of which I am one), and ends up in how diet can reverse atherosclerosis (after being ketogenic with very high saturated fat/calorie diet for several years I have been tested to have 0 arterial plaque despite 'high' 'bad' cholesterol) - but among several other examples of reversing varying chronic physical/mental illnesses, it goes into the very first portable blood glucose monitor and how people used to treat T1D before insulin became available. It also shows a family following this diet for their child with Type 1 Diabetes recovering significantly after changes and ending up only needing a very minimal amount of insulin per day.
  7. I was referring specifically to the autonomous installer in the case of only having one drive installed. However, it can be good practice in general if you ever dual boot. The Windows Boot Manager has historically messed with the boot files on every drive, such as Linux ones you tell it not to install to.
  8. For the past year or two, when I've tried bypassing the Win 11 installation requirements via Rufus or MicroWin for old desktops, the installation has failed on me. So I stopped bothering and switched to using Linux for them. That might have something to do with the newer Windows 11 24H2/25H2 .isos. But if you can get it to work, doing an in place upgrade isn't a bad choice. Older CPUs don't have the hardware requirements to do some of the modern memory security features and have an up to 30% performance loss because of that if that's turned on, but if you've got a decent processor it should still be fine for basic use. I did hear Rufus just had an update to allow for silent autonomous install of Windows 11 with a local account, so that's nice. Do note however that it will use the first disk and likely full wipe it, so make sure you backup personal files and only have one hard drive installed. https://www.howtogeek.com/latest-rufus-update-debloats-and-installs-windows-11-silently/
  9. I tried to write a too long in depth reply yesterday, but gave up when half of it got deleted and unrecoverable after inserting a link... I'll try again. While I wish that LTSC were available to consumers/enthusiasts outside of gray market key resellers, to put it simply, Microsoft wouldn't make any money off of supporting that, so of course they won't do that. The businesses paying exorbitantly for it are paying for stability on fleets of PCs that all have to be set up without anything installed by IT and want them to last for at least a decade without interference. Regardless, Microsoft has only been making a tiny bit of their profit off of Windows licenses for quite some time now. They make very little money off of PC hardware sales either. There are some legitimate reasons why they added the requirement of modern CPUs and TPM chips for Windows 11. Basically, they have a lot less support complaints from users who don't understand hardware requirements for a good experience or know how to use the internet safely. It has prevented a lot of malware/security issues that they no longer have to deal with. If you want to learn more, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPyRI1J0vGU I don't necessarily like it, but businesses only care about money, not the environment or people or support. They no longer call them "Personal Computers", after all... Refurbished PCs are still a great and economical option, something like a business oriented Lenovo Thinkpad laptop is a common solid choice. Windows 11 would be the simplest current option, and it's not too bad once you strip out the garbage ads and bloat. Tools like WinUtil help speed up cleanup and installs. https://christitus.com/windows-tool/ I still recommend Linux Mint on a laptop over Chrome OS/Chrome OS Flex though, especially if you need to do remote support. I like Parsec on Windows and Rustdesk on Linux, but Chrome OS/Android offer basically none or very convoluted remote desktop options. Linux Mint can very easily be set up to mirror a Windows XP/7/10 layout that anyone with prior Windows experience would be familiar with. Mint is fine for Zoom and okay for WT Library with WINE, though not the easiest for installing Waydroid to emulate Android for JW Library. A more modern distro works better there. If you are going to use Chrome OS, definitely get a Chromebook Plus laptop with good Android/Linux software support, even if it's one of last year's models on clearance. They have the best Android/Linux app support and hardware. Don't install Chrome OS Flex yourself on a desktop/laptop or you'll only be able to use Zoom in a browser and no JW Library.
  10. You either want to use the official support or this forum thread. https://nwscheduler.com/support/

  13. Windows 10 already retired last year, but people who sign in with a Microsoft account can access the one year of extended support. I honestly can't consider Chrome OS Flex an upgrade when it downgrades functionality. Chrome OS Flex has been available for several years now, I've tested it out, and did so quite recently when refurbishing a computer for a sister just to recompare it against Linux Mint. Since it doesn't offer Android or Google Play apps like a dedicated Chromebook, it's not much more than a Chrome browser with obfuscated Linux app support. You can do all of the things claimed without Google and locally with general Linux, so why would you want it to be cloud based? Also it can be more of a pain to get working WiFi adapters/drivers on desktops with Chrome OS vs Windows if you're not wired, but that's a Linux issue in general. I've had a Chromebook Duet in the past and loved that as a tablet 2-in-1. For replacing Windows however, you're likely still better off with any modern flavor of Linux. For most people, I recommend Mint due to familiarity, simplicity, and long term user support. Linux distros are even easier to install than Chrome OS because you don't need to sign in with a Google account. Same issue as Microsoft forcing people to sign in with Microsoft accounts, they just want your data and are taking advantage of the situation and claiming it is a benefit to the user when it's really not. 'If a service is free, you are the product'. Granted, it is important to keep your operating system up to date for security vulnerabilities. But the Linux Kernel itself is not so much a service as it is a free and open source tool that anyone can use. Most Linux distros make it easier to avoid Google along with any other corporate interest's advertisements and tracking, easier to find and install the software you need or want like Zoom, easier to run WINE for WT Library or Waydroid for JW Library, etc.
  14. It used to have it under Message Organization, but apparently it was removed. Likely a dumb corporate reason. Unfortunate.
  15. Messages is better. Easy to use cross platform from your tablet/PC. Not many suggestions aside from going through the settings and turning on RCS and setting it up the way you like. RCS is better and more secure than basic SMS texting. Personally, I would turn off Bubbles and Gemini.
  16. Yes, I've been managing it for my congregation for a while. It's primarily intended to be managed through the website on a computer. The mobile app is mostly for publishers to reference and make notes while in a territory. It covers everything I can think of regarding maps, locations, assignments, records, etc. It's relatively simple to learn, but it can be very time consuming depending on how much detail/locations you add to each map. Definitely worth paying for in my case. I think it would be best if you read their help section and watch their videos. https://www.territoryhelper.com/Help
  17. I've noticed this same issue on several systems for at least a couple of years. I'm unable to change the music/video folder locations from within JW Library on most newer Windows 11 computers, such as this desktop. On my previous desktop, I used to house the media files on a separate drive, but it was also glitched. I believe I had to move my user music/video folder locations within Windows. Running JW Library as Admin doesn't help. Dunno what to do about it. I'm not a fan of UWP apps. All I can offer is my respect for using Everything. 😺
  18. They likely need new devices in that case, unfortunately. 🙁 Thankfully there are many modern cheaper or used devices that are adequate. Android 7 came out about 10 years ago, so it's pretty doubtful that any devices that old could be updated, aside from unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom operating system/ROM such as LineageOS, which is a process I doubt most people are willing to go through. I've done it several times in the past, but it generally shouldn't be used for essential devices, newer devices or accounts requiring security unless you're an enthusiast. I used to have a nice phone that was getting a ways behind in Android updates, and I wanted a feature in a newer update, but after getting it set up on LineageOS, when I foolishly relocked the bootloader, it became bricked and the manufacturer never released the files needed to fix it.
  19. There are some older comments back in this thread I was recently reminded of by notifications https://jwtalk.net/topic/44995-jw-library-on-linux-mint/. However, it's actually much simpler now than it was back then. Recently when I was toying around with upgrading my ROG Ally and dual booted Bazzite, I discovered Waydroid. https://docs.waydro.id/usage/install-on-desktops#ubuntu-debian-and-derivatives It seamlessly runs Android apps in a LineageOS container, meaning once you have it installed and running, all you need to do is download the official apk from https://www.jw.org/en/online-help/jw-library/android/manually-install-jw-library-android/ , double click it and you're pretty much good to go. I was able to install it through Bazzite's package manager with no command line, but I've found tutorials for it for other distributions that are only a couple of minutes long.
  20. Copy/paste of scriptures that I reference in regards to diet: (Genesis 3:17, 18) Cursed is the ground on your account. In pain you will eat its produce all the days of your life. 18 It will grow thorns and thistles for you, and you must eat the vegetation of the field. (Genesis 4:12) When you cultivate the ground, it will not give you back its produce* (Lit., “power.”). (Genesis 5:29) He named him Noah, saying: “This one will bring us comfort (“relief.”) from our labor and from the painful toil of our hands because of the ground that Jehovah has cursed.” (Genesis 9:3) Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. (Deuteronomy 12:20) “When Jehovah your God enlarges your territory, just as he has promised you, and you say, ‘I want to eat meat,’ because you desire (your soul desires) to eat meat, you may eat meat whenever you desire it (in all the desire of your soul). (Nehemiah 5:18) Every day one bull, six choice sheep, and birds were prepared for me, and once every ten days we had all sorts of wine in abundance. (Nehemiah 8:10) He said to them: “Go, eat the choice things (fatty things) and drink what is sweet, and send portions of food to those who have nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord, and do not feel sad, for the joy of Jehovah is your stronghold.” (Job 29:4, 6) When I was in my prime, When God’s friendship was felt in my tent, When my steps were awash in butter, And the rocks poured out streams of oil for me. (Job 36:16) He draws you away from the brink of distress To a broad space, free of restriction, With rich food on your table as consolation. (Psalm 36:8) They drink their fill of the rich bounty (the fatness) of your house, And you cause them to drink of the torrent of your delights. (Psalm 63:5) I am satisfied with the best and choicest portion (as with fat and fatness), So my mouth will praise you with joy on my lips. (Psalm 65:11) You crown the year with your goodness; Your tracks overflow with abundance (drip with fatness). (Proverbs 23:20, 21) Do not be among those who drink too much wine, Among those who gorge themselves on meat, 21 For a drunkard and a glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe one with rags. (Proverbs 25:16) If you find honey, eat only what you need, For if you take too much, you may vomit it up. (Proverbs 25:27) It is not good to eat too much honey, (Proverbs 28:7) An understanding son observes the law, But a companion of gluttons disgraces his father. (Isaiah 7:22) And because of the abundance of milk, he will eat butter, for everyone remaining in the land will eat butter and honey. (Isaiah 25:6) In this mountain Jehovah of armies will make for all the peoples A banquet of rich dishes, A banquet of fine wine, Of rich dishes filled with marrow, Of fine, filtered wine. (Isaiah 30:23) And he will give the rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the bread that the ground produces will be abundant and rich (fat and well-oiled). In that day your livestock will graze in spacious pastures. (Jeremiah 31:14) I will satisfy the priests with plenty (fatness), And my people will be satisfied with my goodness,” declares Jehovah. (Habakkuk 1:16) That is why he offers sacrifices to his dragnet And makes sacrifices to his fishing net; For by them his portion is rich (well-oiled), And his food is choice. (Luke 11:11, 12) Indeed, which father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he also asks for an egg, will hand him a scorpion? (1 Timothy 4:1-3) However, the inspired word clearly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired statements and teachings of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, whose conscience is seared as with a branding iron. 3 They forbid marriage and command people to abstain from foods that God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. (Acts 10:15) And the voice spoke again to him, the second time: “Stop calling defiled the things God has cleansed.”
  21. The removal of processed foods and infant food from the diet is always beneficial to your health and deserves praise. It's important to make sure that you are getting an overabundance of all essential amino and fatty acids however. Getting good Omega 3 ratios and B Vitamins can be particularly hard. If you want to see optimal results with your health, look for nutrition that comes in bioavailable and digestible formats that does not require conversion, with lower levels of anti nutrients and toxicity (avoid seeds), and if possible in a low-carb high-fat ketogenic macronutrient profile. I hope you enjoy fatty fruits like avocado. Carbs and fiber affect my digestion very badly, and I require ketosis for brain function, so I am a carnivore for health reasons and simplicity (genetic connective tissue disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders and mental illness, several former autoimmune and chronic illnesses).
  22. I haven't found a way to download them all at once or the videos as audio only unfortunately.
  23. I don't know why it would pause unless something is interacting with your touch earbuds/screen. Your phone could potentially pause videos if the screen automatically turns off, but I don't think it should sleep by default when playing video. It isn't necessarily something to do with Android itself, it could be something your phone brand has changed in their skin or your settings. As for workarounds, if it's an issue with JW Library, you might try downloading all of the videos you want to watch in low/medium quality from the website, put them in a folder / playlist in any free and open source media player such as VLC (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videolan.vlc or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.fossify.musicplayer), and then delete them as you go? https://www.jw.org/en/library/videos/#en/categories/VODPgmEvtMorningWorship
  24. Medical codes have recently been updated to indicate that people can put Diabetes Type 2 into remission. You can look it up. They no longer have any diagnosable markers of the disease, and thus, have reversed it. It has now been proven in research, which people already saw happening for decades. Typically the people who do so utilize methods that don't rely on the typical medicine based medical practices common in developed lands, and it is not reported. It's as simple as cutting out carbohydrates (which are non-essential), eating and burning fat for energy instead, and intermittent fasting. Insulin goes down, diabetes is no longer present.
  25. 7-Zip can unpack basically anything. It is also Free and Open Source, whereas RAR is shareware and a proprietary format, so they nag at you to buy a license after your 'trial' expires. That always bugged me back on dial up when most things online were compressed. 7-Zips right-click context menus are super simple and fast to extract/create archives, and offers much more compression customization if you desire to take the time. I pretty much only use it anymore when transferring backups between computers though. I feel that with how internet speed has changed, it's less needed and safer for people who aren't experienced to not be able to open unknown downloaded filetypes. Downloading password locked compressed archives is a common method of bypassing most malware and virus scanners. I think that's a big part of why Windows took so long to allow native .zip archives. As much as I hate Windows these days, since you have to go to the Microsoft Store to get JW Library, I typically recommend most users to grab their browser, zoom, vlc etc from there since you can set apps to auto update with Windows Update or update everything on your system at once with Winget. I don't recommend logging in with your MS account however... local accounts are still safest. Fun fact, Ninite arranges the apps from the most recommended on the top of the list to the least recommended on the bottom of the list. I actually have a shortcut to the command on my portable drives and google drive, but I don't see the option in the app to make one anymore. I use WinUtil for quickly installing/updating most apps from winget all at once, but if you just want the easy access to a ton of Windows settings tweaks, check out Wintoys on the MS Store. It's a prettier interface and I use it on most new installs as well, better for less techy folks without as much risk of breaking something. https://bogdan-patraucean.github.io/about/wintoys/
