  1. My own personal speculation on why the weekly Bible reading has been reduced from covering the full Greek Scriptures in a year to covering only the Gospels and Acts this year is that the Bible reading will include study notes. So while we in the congregation study less material, the brothers in the Writing Department have time to work on releasing further books of the Study Bible. In line with this educated guessing, I'm sure we'll get Acts released probably a month before we start studying it at the midweek meeting, and Romans by late 2018. And obviously, the Study Bible will also be translated in further languages as time allows. The study notes we will be considering at the meetings are translated in the MWB reference sheet. From translating a few to translating all of them there's a small step in my opinion. At least when it comes to major languages ;)
  2. That's the JW Library app. We're talking about the Watchtower Llibrary on DVD-ROM for Windows.
  3. Updated publications in Update #7: 2017 Watchtower (Public), 2017 Watchtower (Study), 2017 Awake, 2017 Meeting Workbook, 2017 Yearbook, NWT Study Bible, NWT Glossary, WTLIB Help. I wonder why the Romanian edition doesn't have any updates. Daniela, Adelin: do you happen to know anything I don't on this?
  4. I think there was an annoucement in JW Broadcasting, during the interview Geoff Jackson had with the three brothers in MEPS Programming about the inclusion of nwtsty in JW Library as one of the future improvements of the app. UPDATE: I checked the segment in the May 2017 episode. Actually it's not there. But anyway, I do remember hearing it announced on a video. Can't recall which precisely.
  5. The study notes and multimedia material included in the study edition are only available online and in our applications, and thus far only Matthew, Mark and Luke have been released. There aren't any plans for a printed release of nwtsty.
  6. It says: "Die Bibelzitate stützen sich auf den Text der 2013 in Englisch revidierten Neuen-Welt-Übersetzung der Heiligen Schrift." I.e. the Scripture quotations are translated ad-hoc from the English edition of the revised NW. It gives no hint about the release of the revised NW in German. The French edition of the jy book has La Bible. Traduction du monde nouveau, which is apparently the title of the (yet to be released) nwt_F. bi12_F is Les Saintes Écritures. Traduction du monde nouveau.
  7. Czech, Danish, German, Italian, Norwegian, Slovak, Spanish and Swedish (language where are expecting revised Bibles in the near future) all quote from the English revised NWT, not the vernacular one. ;) So the Bibles are not to be released at the end of this service year in these languages.
  8. [A new publication presented at the convention] in French has the Scripture quotations taken from the revised NWT.
  9. Jesus—The Way is already available on JW.org in Hungarian, Korean, Romanian and Russian. In Hungarian, Romanian, and Russian, the Scripture quotations are from the vernacular bi12. Back in 2013, we were notified that there wouldn't be any nwt_M, because bi12_M (published in 2006) already has several of the updated renderings.
  10. This year's Memorial invitation is online in PDF format in 433 languages! https://www.jw.org/download/?fileformat=PDF&pub=mi17
  11. Not yet, it's just the picture of the cover registered as an asset in JW.org
  12. Some languages in which "Jesus--The Way" was released will not have a translation of the 2013 NWT, because their bi12 was released recently enough to include many of the translation decisions that were released in English only in 2013. So it's not accurate to compare 85 (according to my count) languages of "jy" with 31 of "nwt".
