  1. I don't see well in this system. But... My first night's sleep in the New System.
  2. THIS IS JUST MY OBSERVATION: The creation of AI graphics will harm and eventually kill the art market. Already non-artists are generating artwork a hundred at a time and selling them as downloads, as prints, on t-shirts, etc., along side real artists. I feel for those that have invested financially in years of college education to become a graphic artists. It is becoming increasingly hard to identify the real from the fake art in some instances. While it is fun now for everyone who wants to to type in a text prompt and see an image get generated, eventually it will have a ripple effect on real artists being able to earn a living. Also, I see the educational system affected (no one will need to go to college to take up graphic design so colleges will lose money). Same for programming, why go to college to become a computer programmer when you can just type in a prompt and it will write code for you. On the good side: I can see an artist that has an idea but can't visualize it so they create a few AI images for inspiration to get one's creative juices flowing. However, they go on to create their on work (not use the generated images). The bad side: People (non-artists) are opening up shops and generating 1000s of images to sell (as is) as download, sell as pictures, etc. and because of this it is beginning to over saturate the market. AI technology encourages you to include in your text prompt a specific artist/style that will use to generate the images. For me it seems like copying to refer to a specific artist/style (we have copyright laws that forbid copying another's work). However with AI loads of artists have had examples of their work fed into the AI system (without their permission or compensation). Seems like stealing (at least that is how some artist feel). AI creators say it is not they art was just to teach the AI system. There are legal battles going on about this and it will be interesting how it pans out. All said, while I am just talking about the art market I'm sure there are other areas that AI will affect for the worst. Basically anything that can be created via a computer will suffer (art, programming, writing, movies, etc.) If you have a service skill such as carpentry, plumbing, etc. then you may be safe for a while until they introduce robots to do those jobs too. 😵‍💫 As already said people rely on money to live and it will be difficult to make a living in this system as AI will have replaced humans workers in the workforce.
  3. I still have one of these in my closet. Someone gave it to my oldest daughter years ago (never used just for nostalgia). My oldest daughter and I pulled it out 1 day and asked my twin daughter (21 years at the time) where to put the floppy drive. It was too funny watching them trying to figure it out. We finally showed them what to do. They have never seen a floppy drive used nor an ancient computer. 😝
  4. My first one was an Adam Computer by Coleco https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coleco_Adam#/media/File:Coleco_Adam_(adjusted_version).jpg Coleco announced the Adam at the Summer Consumer Electronics Show (CES)[1] in June 1983, and executives predicted sales of 500,000 by Christmas 1983. From the time of the computer's introduction to the time of its shipment, the price increased, from US$525 to $725. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coleco_Adam I can't remember what I paid but I really wanted one because I was expecting to do programming on it as I was going to college. However, it ended up being used mainly for playing games the favorite being "Qbert".
  5. Just saw this topic come up again so wanted to share more about Ashwaganda. Recently, my in-law was going through a lot of stress (job related) and having a hard time getting things done. So I told her husband who was concerned about her going on prescription anxiety meds because of possible side effects to have her try Ashwaganda first. I told him that the results will be subtle (wouldn't feel any great change in the body) but she should notice she can handle more stress and can get things done. When I checked with them a few days later his wife told me that she noticed that she was getting things done and was handling stress better.
  6. After renewing my virus protection software I go back to my account a few days later and turn off auto renew. I also find that near the time to renew I get deals by email offering me cheaper rates than if I allowed them to auto renew me. If I don't get a cheaper renewal rate then I just buy a new subscription at the general public rates. I never renew at the higher rate after when my protection expires. FYI: Always assume that if you are purchasing a subscription online that they have it automatically set to renew (at a higher rate) it is usually buried in the terms that not many read. You have to go in and turn off auto renew or you will be billed (usually at a much higher rate).
  7. One of Jehovah's creation. It doesn't know how beautiful it is?
  8. If your amazon packages are late this may be why. I now have so much more respect for delivery drivers. (usps, ups, amazon, etc.)
  9. Hi Brother Gleen, I am not in the UK but I did homeschool my kids (now 21 years old). If you are open to facebook groups there are a few jw homeschool groups. If you private message me I will give you links to them. They ask that we don't post their links openly on social media. They do require you to answer questions as proof you are a jw. My kids benefited greatly from these groups. They got to take classes online such as piano, sewing, etc.
  10. Just wanted to list my daughter's new website. She offers things for baptism and pioneer gifts, stickers, buttons, bookmarks, notebooks, wood items, t-shirts, tumblers, greeting cards, etc. as well as ministry tools such as planners, and spiritual tracker worksheets. There is also a downloadable section that contains items such as postcard coloring pages, etc. https://www.jwstuff4you.com/msgood NOTE: Neither the website name "jw.org" nor any trademarks belonging to The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, including but not limited to photos, etc. found on the jw.org, in publications, etc. are used on items being sold in order to respect their wishes to "keep away from any kind of commercialization, such as in selling items containing these trademarks".
  11. Just found this today. Looks like it was a zoom gathering during lockdown interview with Philip Ingram. There's a performance at the beginning then an interview. I didn't know how to just show the performance. The interview is rather long i didn't watch it all (will do that later). He does introduce his wife Sister Ingram somewhere during the interview . Don't know how much of his time is devoted to entertainment now but looks like he has teamed up with his old group to do this performance. Hope it's ok to post
  12. Thank you Sister. Without Jehovah's it wouldn't be possible.
  13. Hi all, Wanted to share the 2nd animation my daughter did for a jw event held recently. She created all the content, drawings, and played piano but didn't sing this time. Her work greatly improved since the first video. Hope you enjoy it. jla_animation2.mp4
  14. I have digestive issues also and sugar alcohols bother me too. I have tried several over the years but have found that they bother me. Anything with Erythritol will almost immediately cause me to feel aches/pains in my legs and joints. It's like pins and needles are sticking in my legs (especially the upper thigh areas. Erythritol is made from corn and most corn they say (in the usa) is from gmo crop. Growing up I have never had allergy to corn but now I can't eat it. I can't prove that corn is made from GMO crop but I surely believe something is up with it as my body knows anytime I eat anything containing it. If you notice corn is in everything (high frutose corn syrup which they say is bad sugar that should be avoided). It's in everything we eat, condiments, jelly, food, etc. So no wonder if people are consuming a lot of these things they are all achy. I can't eat sugar because it give me body aches too. Here are 2 alternative I use: BOCHASWEET: It's verrrry pricey. They do sell it on amazon but buying it directly from the company make sometime be cheaper. Bochasweet is supposedly is made from a squash. Please read their FAQs about this sweetener so you understand how it made, etc. The company says in the faq https://bochasweet.com/faqs/; For us we use it in cooking and baked goods only as it so pricey. We use the 2nd alternative I will be mentioning below for sweetening coffee, etc. Bochasweet does have a cooling affect on the tongue. Basically it feels like you've eaten a mint or a cool tingly-ness (did i spell that right or is it even a word 😀) for a few seconds. The company sell packets if you want to put it in coffee, etc. They also have a powdered version. But I just buy the regular green pack and grind it down with a coffee grinder when I need it powdered to make stuff like frostings or keto friendly ice cream (where you just shake it in cream until it becomes foamy and free it no churning) to eliminate having the feel of grit in my mouth as it doesn't melt like sugar. I do limit my intake of it so as not to have digestive issues. I do also find that each batch may differ. Meaning some times I can eat it just fine other times it bothers my digestion. https://bochasweet.com/product/bochasweet-granular-sugar-replacement/ Anything with Erythritol I can almost immediately feel aches/pains in my legs and joints. It's made from corn and most corn they say is from gmo crop (I can't prove it) but my body knows anytime I eat anything containing it. They don't always list it as an ingredients in food but my body knows. MONK FRUIT: (make sure it's pure not mixed with Erythoritol. 😞) Monk fruit is starting to become popular BUT.... you have to be careful as they "sneak" in Erythritol in it. You have to read the label. It's very hard to find pure monk fruit in powder form. But I have managed to find a liquid variety by now foods. Plain: https://www.amazon.com/Foods-Organic-Calorie-Sweetener-8-Ounce/dp/B07WLSPVFV/ref=sr_1_5 (the plain is made with cane sugar alcohol as the preservative. I can't do sugar so I use their vanilla variety below). Vanilla: https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Organic-Vanilla-1-8-Ounce/dp/B07R5S9G1V/ref=sr_1_7 Surprisingly I have used it in making keto potatoe salad to add a little sweetness and I can't tell vanilla is in it. I guess I have gotten use to it. 10 drops is equivalent to a teaspoon. So you need to add it slowly. If you use too much you may notice an after taste (the vanilla flavor that is I haven't tried regular) Powder form: https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Certified-Sweetener-0-7-Ounce/dp/B07NDLYY46/ref=sr_1_8 I have never tried the powder form but they do have it. NOTE: They mix erythoritol i almost all other types of sugar alcohols but call it monk fruit. Please read the labels carefully. Again you want it pure/raw.
  15. I completely get it. When we lost our very first dachshund years ago I thought I wasn't attached. However, I quickly realized the first day that everyone had gone to work/school that my routine was different. I quickly realized that my daily routine surrounded around him (feeding, walking, etc.) and he wasn't there for me to do those things. I did shed a few tears which surprised me and I realized then how much I missed him. He was the best dog out of all the ones we have owned since he passed. Yes the pain is real and I couldn't relate when my mom lost her dog until I experienced it myself. My heart goes out to you but soon the pain you feel will slowly fade and it will be replaced by all the warm memories of the joy your fur baby brought you.
  16. I'm very sorry for your loss and completely feel your pain. We too also coming to grips that we are nearing a similar decision soon. Our longhaired dachshund has been showing signs that we will have to make a difficult choice soon. He already has trouble walking, has gotten very slow, sleeps a lot and just recently fell over without notice. We too have looked at videos giving us the signs to know when it time to have him put down. I would like that he goes on his own but recognize that the decision is fast approaching. He turns another year old in October. So far he manages to get up and walk to us when we come into the room but he's is showing signs that things that this is probably his last year with us. All said, it's never easy and I understand how you feel. We've had to put down 2 dogs in the past and it's never an easy decision.
  17. I agree. Hennasooq.com is the best place to get pure ingredients without all the fillers/additives. If you buy it from the wrong place it could be a problem so avoid buying unless the product is just henna or indigo as the ingredients. Places like amazon.com has a lot of products that may have other things in the ingredients that may damage or cause irritation for those with allergies so you really need to look at the ingredients.
  18. I took a year long drawing course offered by a brother that used to work in the art department at Bethel. It was a challenge as I had never drawn by hand. My biggest challenge was learning to shade things. The class started off drawing simple faces, hands, arms, legs then gradually got more detailed. When you finish the course you should be able to draw portraits. My final class I had to draw a portrait from someone's photo. Due to privacy I won't share it here publicly. I would have never taken such a course but because of the pandemic I took it to keep my mind off the world events. Here are some examples of our work near the end of the course. The work isn't perfect but I did my best. 🤭
  19. Very nice. Love the bird and green butterfly the most.
