  1. Show me your favorites and I'll tell you if he is there..
  2. "The horses, one of which was covered in blood, caused chaos as they roamed the city centre and collided with vehicles, including a double-decker bus and taxi."
  3. Bloody horses were seen loose in London. This has nothing to do with the ride of the 4 horses in Revelation. This has nothing to do with a whinny of Peace and Security. This has nothing to do with the start of the Great Tribulation. It's just a couple of bloody horses running through London.. Four injured as runaway military horses bolt through central London (bbc.com)
  4. I am like an old cell phone, I can sleep all night and my battery is still only 80% in the morning, 50% by noon and dead by 3pm...
  5. We have a very good looking brother in our congregation that is growing the perfect beard. He was in Bethel for many years and was used for images of many Bible characters, including Jesus. He said it would take several hours to put the beard on and take it off when they used him then, it would be much easier now.
  6. "They ultimately agreed to a package bill that included the foreign aid as well as legislation to confiscate Russian assets held by Western banks; new sanctions on Russia, Iran and China; and a provision that will force the Chinese company ByteDance to sell the popular social media service TikTok."
  7. "As first lady, Obama served as a role model for women and worked as an advocate for poverty awareness, education, nutrition, physical activity, and healthy eating." There may be a reason it is on her refrigerator that has nothing to do with politics, color or gender.
  8. When we think about the 144,000 and what they will be doing soon, it reminds us that the GB is a very small part of the 144,000 and they currently have a relatively short assignment from Jehovah. Very soon they will join the rest of the 144,000 and they will all have the same assignment. Any focus on who Jehovah is using as the GB pales when you think about how temporary the assignment is.
  9. My understanding was that you like the variety of personalities on the GB and personalities are enhanced by the person's background. So, a variety of ethnicity and cultures would give us a variety of personalities and experience. I agree 100%. I don't think the comments made here, mine included, were directed to you or anyone else. They were generic comments about being careful to not adapt a worldly pride about our own race or ethnicity and feel that our race is not fully or appropriately represented on the GB.
  10. The second picture is definitely clearer with the reduced air pollution.
  11. You have discovered the Elder Conundrum. Do we counsel someone publicly and possibly embarrass and discourage them? Or do we counsel them privately and then see others follow their example?
  12. That is explained very well in the announcement. It said: “When visiting Bethel, it would be appropriate for brothers to wear a tie and a jacket and for sisters to wear a skirt or a dress if that is the standard of dress in that land.” So whatever the standard of dress is for Bethel in that land, would be the theocratic standard of dress that a brother or sister would use when they have a part.
  13. Let's look at that again. The Announcement said: “The Governing Body has decided that sisters may choose to wear slacks when participating in the ministry and when attending Christian meetings, assemblies, and conventions. If a sister chooses to wear slacks on such occasions, they should not be casual, but dignified, modest, and appropriate. When a sister has a part on the program, she should wear a skirt or a dress if that is the standard of dress in that land. Of course, some sisters may choose to wear a skirt or a dress even when they do not have a part on the program." The standard of dress in the USA for sisters has always been a skirt or dress.
  14. Thanks, that is the way our BOE feels too. We have the CO visit in June and will see if he has anything to say about it.
  15. He said that in 2021, so let's hope they have been working on their appetite in the last three years...
  16. Did he say anything about conducting the meeting for service? should the brother conducting wear a tie and jacket?
  17. Back in 2008 the Independance rammed the wharf at the oil refinery I was at. It was at night so they backed off and put a spotlight on the damage so we could check for leaks. I notified the Coast Guard, and they discovered the crew was drunk. It's a little scary seeing the damage that thing can do and then watch them back off and look like they want to hit it again. I'm glad they were sober enough to give us a spotlight light instead of ramming it again.
  18. All you had to do was ask, I would have sent you a selfie...
  19. I would love to see the United Nations get restructured with more authority (teeth) that would really be a sign that we are moments away from P&S. It could be called the New United Nations. Of course, we would call it the Flying NUN when Jehovah destroys it...
