  1. (full disclosure: I don't think this works in the US yet. If you're still curious to try out this new search tool but your country isn't yet supported, you can select Canada as your country and you'll be able to try out the tool, without logging in!) visit https://apps.jw.org/E_DONATE click My Circuit Assembly* click the Donate Now button in the new box, notice the link Continue without using an account Now you can search by name for any congregation*, and not only will the KH address and meeting time appear, but also the Circuit Number and circuit part! *if your country/branch doesn't yet support circuit assembly donations via the website, you'd have to use the other method to find your congregation's circuit assignment. P.S. before anyone asks "how did you find this link? is it a special/secret link?" the answer is no; you can find this link at the bottom of our official homepage: under Quick Links, notice "Make a Donation to Our Worldwide Work"
  2. I know several months ago this question was asked...but I don't remember an answer was ever given. I tried to search on the forum but couldn't find the thread. The question is: Does the branch receive the donation when you click on the PopUp that asks if you want to donate to The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York when you are about to place an order on Amazon. If you say Yes, it goes to Smile.Amazon URL. So I called the branch today to ask before I placed an order. I've always chosen not to donate because I wasn't sure who it was going to. But...the brother said they DO receive a donation through Amazon. It is .05% from all orders when you go through the "smile.amazon" when you place an order. I'm so glad I know that little tidbit...
  3. The Red Cross’ Haiti disgrace: Half a billion dollars spent, six homes built The Red Cross received an outpouring of donations after the quake, nearly half a billion dollars. The group has publicly celebrated its work. But in fact, the Red Cross has repeatedly failed on the ground in Haiti. Confidential memos, emails from worried top officers, and accounts of a dozen frustrated and disappointed insiders show the charity has broken promises, squandered donations, and made dubious claims of success. The Red Cross says it has provided homes to more than 130,000 people. But the actual number of permanent homes the group has built in all of Haiti: six. After the earthquake, Red Cross CEO Gail McGovern unveiled ambitious plans to “develop brand-newcommunities.” None has ever been built.... This story was co-published with NPR. Mitzy-Lynn Hyacinthe contributed reporting. Design direction by David Sleight, production by Hannah Birch. Read about how the Red Cross botched key elements of its mission after Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Isaac in PR Over People: The Red Cross' Secret Disaster. And about how the Red Cross' CEO has been serially misleading about where donors' dollars are going.
