Many claim that near-death experiences (NDEs) provide evidence of a supernatural afterlife. In fact, two books have recently been NY Times bestsellers for months, each promoting an NDE as proof of heaven’s existence: Proof of Heaven by E. Alexander (Simon & Schuster, 2012) and Heaven Is for Real by T. Burpo and L. Vincent (Thomas Nelson, 2011). Many other such books are currently in publication (see Fig. 2).

 

Many scientists, however, dispute such claims. Some point to research that shows that the common features of NDEs are scientifically explainable as natural physiological responses that can be replicated by certain drugs or diseases and are induced in the brain as it senses disaster or shuts down. Based on this research, they claim that people having NDEs are just mistaking these natural responses for entry into some kind of supernatural afterlife. See Fig. 3.

Years ago, a workmate told us he had had one of those out-of-body experiences during some surgery. He had the usual sensation of floating above his body, even though he was under general anesthetic at the time. He said he could see himself on the operating table, and could hear the doctors talking to each other. Following the surgery, after he came out of the anesthetic, he asked the doctor what had happened. He asked if he had almost died on the operating table, or if his heart had stopped, or other near-death scenarios had occurred. The doctor couldn't figure out why he was asking, since everything went well during the surgery. All was normal!

 

So, what had happened? He never did find out. And he did not become a believer in life after death following that experience.

But of course, we all know that Satan was wrong when he told Eve that humans don't die.  But isn't it interesting that same lie still gets traction today, all these many years later.  Hmmm....

To date, no one has had one of these visions while connected to a CAT scan while scientists were watching - so they don't have any explanation for this. Perhaps one day?

What is CAT scan? Time to time I do have them so was wondering what scientist think about spiritual powers from guarding angels,Jesus and Jehovah.

Although I think MRI - http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/magnetic-resonance-imaging-mri

is probably the better tool for this. I would imagine this is what they used for the experiments mentioned earlier.

 

Basiclly, it is a way to see what is happening inside a person. The best time to look is while someone is going through that something.

 

Perhaps, you might be interested in having yourself scanned while these things are happening. They might be able to give you a really good explanation
