In the old  "Andy Griffith" show, what were the names the different girlfriends that he had over the

run of the series, and what was the name of the actresses that played the various parts. Who was

the one that Andy finally married ?

Ellie was one. There were at least three more by my count. Andy was more than the town

sheriff. He was the town Romeo too. And that's not counting a number of come on by various

ones who appeared on the show over the years.

How much did the Mayberry city hall weigh?

Hey Musky..Aka (Chuck)

Just had to tell you that...I have absolutely not one scintilla of an idea how much the Mayberry city hall weighed.....BUT, I do know that your above comment made we spontaneously burst into laughter harder than I have in a very long time & for that I thank you. I really appreciate your dry wit and wicked sense of humor.

Favorite Andy episode was the pilot where (or one of the early ones) where Opie does not like Aunt Bea coming to live with them.  He is crying and telling his "pa" that she can't fish, or play ball or a number of other things and does not like her.  At the end she is packing her bags to leave and Andy is trying to stop her.  He looks at Opie for his help and Opie replies "She might as well stay. She can't do anything."   HaaaaaHaaaaaa! How did Andy have so much patience with Barney?  I grew to love Barney too but it sure did take a while.

My family grew up watching Andy and Barney. We still love the old reruns. In many ways my Dad reminds

me of the character Andy played in the series. After watching the program  as we were growing up perhaps

my Dad began to use "Andy" as a role model. That might explain a lot of things. And yes it was amazing to

watch Andy's patience with Barney as he would time after time do one stupid thing after another. It is cer-

tainly an example of what it means to truly have someone be your best friend.
