Some might think it to be a step in the right direction but "Holyween" does not shed the pagan influences in regard the holiday nor does it rid itself of the Platonic belief in the inherent immortality of the Soul. So it is really just a veil covering dead man's bones.

We cannot incite if we are not in sight.___Heb.10:24,25

It is at least refreashing to hear Pope Francis acknowledge the truth behind Halloween and that the fight all true

Christians have is against Satan and his machinations. Too bad though of the  record the Catholic Church has in pro-

moting this Satanic holiday, and it's destructive and negative influences. As the Catholic exorcist acknowledged, this

is  the chief Satanic holiday of the year, and that exorcisms increased especially this time of the year. His sugges-

tion of changing the name to Holyween is in harmony with what the Pre- Anglicized name meant - Holy Eve. This is

because the next day on the Catholic calendar was All Saints Days.

So at least to be fair to those who are Catholic and know these things, these facts ought to be pointed out by us.

However the doctrine of "the communion of saints" is based on the belief of the immortality of the soul. This is a

teaching the Bible clearly shows is not true ( compare Ezek. 18: 4 ) In addition part of the customs of Halloween

( the door to door begging with a jacko'lantern ) was born of the belief this could relieve souls in purgatory. Further

historically it is this belief that lead to the  selling of indulgences in the time of Luther. The abuse of which lead

to his nailing his famous 95 thesis exposing the fallacy to these beliefs. This also  was the torch that set off the

Reformation.

So regardless of what is now said about Halloween, the Catholic Church has long had good reason to reevaluate

her position about this holiday. In view of this, what can be said of Pope Francis statements at this time ?
