3 year old wandered away from home in -20C weather

This was one of my fears as a new parent. Thankfully our front door needed to be replaced and there was not way a little kid could open it. Our back door has hard lock so couldn't get out there. We thought of everything until at two he figured he could connect from third floor to the garage. He is smart. He scared the life out of my husband when suddenly there was a little voice behind him. Needless so say locks went on that access as well. Now he is six and I just replaced the broken door. He knows better and can let out the dog. Yea!!!!

The wee one was found, but it was too late.  He passed in the hospital :'(

This happens more than your think. A cousin of mine climbed out of her crib when she was 3 years old and was found walking on the street completely naked. It was a local priest that found her and brought her to the police station. This was back in Massachusetts but I don't remember if it was winter or not. She was only a few years younger than me, so I was young at the time too. It wasn't until after the incident did I learn about it.

 

Fortunately, she survived, but she passed away a few years ago.

This is local for me, and is getting a lot of news coverage. The little guy was at his grandmother's home, and I wonder if he tried to go find his mommy. Just so sad

I hope someone is able to bring them comfort.  I had seen that about the grandma, and since my own son did something similar when he was little (only it wasn't winter) I know how scary this is, and then to have the little one die on account of it --- My heart is breaking for them!!!  

 

Jehovah please send them someone to comfort them.

Another child was found outside today.

 

Child, 3, found wandering near Lake Shore and Kipling

Toronto police say a child, 3, has been found wandering in the area of Lake Shore Blvd. and Twelfth Street. The child, police say, was outside with no clothes on when found but is now safe.

I feel so sick to my stomach thinking about the grief this grandmother (and of course the rest of the family) must be feeling. How could she ever anticipate such a senario? Oh,so sad!

I felt the same way.  Seeing how I'm a grandma myself.  :'(
