Spotted this article today. It is dated to yesterday. Bloodless surgery.

"“As a group of patients,” Nunes says, “Jehovah’s Witnesses are very well informed ... The way they have been able to organize and educate their community, and then to work with the medical community to make sure they know how to care for them, is really very impressive.”"

The Advance Medical Directive in the Files category that pnutts found for me (Yay, thank you) to help an unbaptized person, is not specifically for, nor is it by witnesses. Many non witnesses want a no-blood directive for medical reasons. Some time ago, a brother related a story of going in to see a Witness who had checked into a hospital. Some hospitals at that time alerted religious leaders if a congregant was admitted. I don't know if they still do that - HIPPA.The brother went in and saw the patient smoking. (yes, the smoking bans were not consistently enforced, then). The patient told the brother he only signed in as a Witness to avoid blood.   :uhhuh: There may have been a  similar experience in our literature, as this is probably not an isolated case.

About JWTalk.net - Jehovah's Witnesses Online Community

Since 2006, JWTalk has proved to be a well-moderated online community for real Jehovah's Witnesses on the web. However, our community is not an official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or maintained by any legal entity used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We are a pro-JW community maintained by brothers and sisters around the world. We expect all community members to be active publishers in their congregations, therefore, please do not apply for membership if you are not currently one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
