These outfits are fetching.

Got it.... :D

They remind me of the show Happy Days, which, by the way, came from the show 'Love American Style'- where it first aired- which, also by the way, was mostly about married couples (at least in season 1), thus- if they had excluded some of the stupid, suggestive intermission jokes- would have been ridiculously innocent.

But it is a 'do not mention bad show' subject :o now, and I haven't viewed it past season one, since it first aired, in...was it the late 60's?  Or 1970?

I should know the answer to that, sorry.

Anyway, 'yes', Happy Days is a spin-off from L.A.S., where it first aired.

Not many people know that, possibly.

Personally, I like the dress code, in the 50's.

Thanks for the trivia and the short stroll down memory lane...

From Wikipedia;

During its first four years on ABC, Love, American Style was popular with viewers and received decent ratings, although it never ranked among the top thirty shows in the Nielsens. For a few seasons, it was part of a power-house line-up of ABC programs on Friday, which included The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Room 222, and The Odd Couple. On February 25, 1972, the show aired an episode with a segment titled "Love and the Television Set", a story about Richie Cunningham, his family and friends, which later served as the pilot for the popular series Happy Days. For syndication, the segment was retitled "Love and the Happy Days". At the start of the 1973-1974 fall season, the ratings for Love, American Style, and Room 222 had plummeted.

Yep, that's it!

...'Love and the Happy Days'.

The early 70's was the 'exciting' 70's, but by the mid-70's, the decade had plummeted like the ratings for Love American Style and Room-222.

At least that is how I remember things.

I recall my teacher- at school- handing me a newspaper article about the 1972 Miami Dolphins, where players declared: "This year will be our year!"

And it was, as you might recall; the Dolphins went 12 and 0, and won the Superbowl!

Let me see...  In 73, they repeated, and beat the Washington Redskins.

Did they beat the Vikings, in 72?

I remember watching Billy Kilmer and the Washington game, but the 72 Bowl is a little hazy.

Dallas beat the Dolphens, in S-6.

Anyway, those were interesting years, before the 70's downfall.   My memory starts humming, when I think about it.

Adjustment:  Not 'innocent' like 'old movie' innocent, the subject-matter was...well, you know.

But season 1 of Love American Style was mostly about married or engaged couples.  So it is not surprising that Happy Days originated from it.

Room-222 seemed to start off strong, before it plummeted, too, yes.  I remember that.
