grandson sad over leaving colo 1 for 13

At the end of the assembly there was an announcement that Colo 1 a and b would combine, and 3 congregations would be leaving, we are in one of them.  My grandson started crying over "being kicked out" of the circuit.  We pointed out that some different friends now would be at our assembly, including my brother.  This takes affect September.

We had a similar restructuring here last year.  A whole circuit was dissolved and the congregations were reassigned to new circuits.  There was a bit of shuffling around.  In the end we've picked up some new faces and friends.  It's exciting if a bit too crowded at the assembly hall now.

Must have been a nation wide deal. Here in the Gulf Coast we mixed things up as well. Not a big deal for most of us who have been in the truth a while. We get to see friends from the past when we used to meet in the big conventions and prior rearranging of things. But I could see how it would have an affect on our young people. Like moving to a new school. They have to start all over with their associates.

Weird isn't it, how when you're young you have such problems finding friends in the truth and then you turn twenty-something and suddenly hang out with people twice your age..

 

I hope he will find some new, good friends in his new circuit.

he is not 7 yet.  So it is not so much losing friends, as just being told "goodbye".  Wife and I are looking forward to the change, but will not see the other half of the old circuit, lots of friends there we seldom see.  We can remember when there were 4 circuits or fewer and we had to travel.  Colorado in general is growing at a rapid rate, that includes friends moving in from other areas.
