Dune Fire

We smelled smoke today, and it was incredible smoke.  Clouded the sky till you couldn't see anything. It was hot today,  88 F or 31 C, with a stiff 25 mph wind. And someone just HAD to have a fire in the fire pit. It could have been so much worse. 

One house was lost and 1 damaged. I'll drive there in the morning to see how bad it was.

Glad it's contained, how close did it get to you?

That's why we have a total fire ban here in WA in the summer months.  No open wood fires for bbq, no burn-offs.  Only gas/electric bbqs allowed.  Fires in summer are hard to totally avoid, but if we can minimise the risk, then we must try.

Up the road about 5 miles I think. We have yet to jump in the truck and go take a peek, maybe after lunch
