Ethylene Gas: Silent but deadly

Recommended Posts

A couple of days ago a young sister gave my wife a beautiful arrangement of roses, they were very professional and one of the prettiest arrangements I've seen. Unfortunately my wife put them on the kitchen counter next to a large box of ripe apples that we plan to peel and it killed them.

Ripening fruit produces ethylene gas and many flowers are susceptible to ethylene gas.

It's too late to save our flowers, but hopefully this warning will help keep your flowers alive. If just one flower is saved, then our roses have not died in vain...

I like that friendly turtle (tortoise) Bro Richard that is more how I see you. (don't go and change it because this comment may then not apply so to cover me here it's the friendly cute tortoise that is waving at us).

Apples in fridge do same to flowers in fridge.  A sister in my home town discovered this 40 years ago. They also make other foods spoil faster.

Here is another one. Keep potatoes and onions apart. Onions make spuds sprout and spuds make onions rot.:scared:

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!
