Android issues

Recommended Posts

I have an android Samsung S5 and I usually keep it muted since most of the calls that I receive are spam. Recently I noticed that incoming calls would un-mute the phone. While the phone was muted I would hear a notification that I had received a voicemail, so I experimented with it and found that incoming calls were switching the phone from Mute to Sound.

I started deleting apps that I had recently installed and when I deleted a virus protection app named Sophos, the problem stopped.

So..if your android phone is un-muting itself, check to see if you have Sophos installed...

It's aggravating the way bad guys get into our lives (and devices). My buddy Chuck just called and said his android was automatically downloading something and his phone was HOT. So he turned it off and will bring it over when Lew gets home.

Another thing that's happening is calls that seem to come from a legit source, like Columbia Memorial Hospital or  Job Corps for my area, but are actually solicitors piggy backing on their phone numbers so people will be tricked into answering the phone. I don't answer the phone much anymore unless it's someone I really do know should be calling me. My only concern is the hospital one, hope nobody ends up hurt and I'm not answering the call:(

Landline: What I've done is, go into the block option and block those calls right away. It may ring after that but after one ring, it stops. Android: Likewise

The difference between try and triumph is that little "umph"
