The New and Improved Gmail

Gmail has a new look, and after a couple days with using the new interface I am pretty impressed. A couple years ago I made the switch from Yahoo to Gmail and am ever so glad that I did.

But the thing that I stumbled upon recently is actually very insignificant - just so cute! I chose an "Ocean" theme which loads a hi-def photo as a background. But throughout the day, the image changes. At night, it's a starry night, in the day it is blue skies, and in the morning and evening there is sunrise, sunset, and twilight.

Them Google boys are just too cool ;)

I personally don't like the new "conversation view" within the email messages. Also don't like the ad bar. They say you can turn that off by using html, but I have always used html and have verified that is what it is now set at,but the ad bar is still there.

Funny, I always thought there were ads across the top.

I guess the real problem with the conversation view is that for me to really like it, I will have to personally upload a photo for each contact so I can see them, instead of the default blank guy.

Maybe there were always ads along the top but my Adblock hid them. Adblock doesn't work at all with this new version of Gmail. Do you think maybe they did that on purpose? LOL
