Christian jukebox (good clean music to listen to)

This is the kind of blues I love. Put your headphones on and kick back for these two great tunes. Gary Moore is a great guitarist.

This the definition of cool. 😎

Love this song with Jeff Beck and Imogene Heap. Check out the sound of that bass too. “My blanket covers me “

Here’s a rather sad song called strange fruit. It was written by Abel Meeropol as a poem but performed by Billie Holiday. It protested the lynchings of black Americans, particularly in the south.

Thanks brother Jack for helping me to appreciate jazz music.  First time listening to this song. No wonder she is one of the all-time jazz legends. I was told it was Frankie Newton who played the trumpet on the 1939 version. Masterfully played. The lyrics are so graphic. We mustn't forget the inhumanity of racism.

Southern trees bear strange fruit

Blood on the leaves and blood at the root

Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze

Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant south

The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth

The scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh

Then the sudden smell of burning flesh

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck

For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck

For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop

Here is a strange and bitter crop

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

I was listening to one of my old playlist an remembered this song. The group didn’t go to far but I love this song and Walker has a great voice. Although it doesn’t look like it fits him.

This song always reminded me of the truth along with a song Nick Jonas wrote when was younger at 11/12 (he wrote and performed this one at just 15 about his diabetes) called Dear God. Glad he and his brothers are back together and happy, they've always been a clean and positive band with likeable and scandal-free personalities, can't wait to see them on tour :)

Thanks for contributing sister Jadon. I know my response is late but I’m just now getting the chance to hear this song. My heart goes out to all those with diabetes. Like he said, you don’t know what you Got until it’s gone. I wasn’t expecting him to say he’s ‘waiting on kingdom come’. He needs to hear the truth.

I debated posting this song for a while now because of the beelzebub part. Please excuse it...

I know we’re all a little different in areas of conscience. But I’m guessing we’re similar. Generally I don’t fret too much about a word, expression etc... I look at the song as a whole and it’s overriding point/purpose.

Some friends get spooked at the sound of certain words. I try to put it in context.

For example, I know a sweet old sister....but if I told her:

”I just read a book that  talked about a man that elicited the services of a Witch to raise the spirit of a dead friend. The friend came as a ghost and spoke with him.”

She would probably drag me by the ear to the Elders. Until I tell her that book was the Bible. :lol1:

That part in the song doesn’t bother my conscience but I was just thinking that the part where he said “beelzebub has a devil put aside for me” might offend others... but the guitar after that part is so awesome you soon forget all about it  :punk:

Yeah, it never bothered me either. I just saw it as a saying of "what does Satan have planned for me now?" like complaining about life's difficulties.

This song has religious connotations but at least he’s using the abbreviated form of Jehovah’s name :)

Forever loving Jah - Bob Marley and the wailers

Forever loving Jah rehearsal. This one in my opinion is better than the studio version.

second song says video unavailable.

It may not be available to watch in Canada since I have no problem watching it. When that happens you just have to go to YouTube and type it in :)
