Final Day of Hearings for Brother Arkadya Akopyan, December 21

...It is uncertain whether the judge will issue a verdict on December 21. However, if convicted, Brother Akopyan faces a heavy fine or up to four years in prison.
Brother Akopyan is one of over 100 other Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia facing criminal charges for their faith. Consequently, we pray that all of our brothers and sisters who are standing firm in the faith continue to have the peace that only God can give.—Ephesians 6:11-14, 23.

I googled the Russian wording, the last sentence said the Judge is going to retire for now but will give a decision later, but it read that he had already made up his mind that the brother will be sentenced.  If sentenced, then he will be sent to prison.  I guess they are holding off till after Xmas.

This is the last sentence in the paper story, not the block:

После того как Аркадя Акопян выступит с последним словом, судья Прохладненского районного суда удалится для вынесения приговора.

Below is the google version translated in English.  Of the same sentence in the story, not the block.

After Arkady Akopyan makes the last word, the judge of the Prokhladnensky District Court will retire for sentencing.

The sentence to Arkady Hakobyan will be passed in the Prokhladnensky District Court on December 27, 2018. Earlier, on December 21, the parties debated on his case, and he delivered the last word. The prosecutor requested him 3 years of imprisonment conditionally. The believer insists on his complete innocence.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, a court convicted a peaceful believer

Recognize Akopian Arkady Akopovich guilty under part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 120 hours of compulsory work. This decision was announced on December 27, 2018 by Oleg Golovashko, judge of the Prokhladnensky District Court. There is no real evidence of Akopyan’s guilt in the case, so the verdict will be appealed. In the past, all attempts to accuse individual Witnesses of Jehovah under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation were unsuccessful.

The court believed the improbable accusation: five prosecution witnesses who did not profess the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses admitted in one voice that they allegedly massively distributed brochures of Jehovah's Witnesses with signs of extremism in their hands on behalf of Arkady Akopyan. The court considered all other episodes unproved or insignificant.

Judge Oleg Golovashko of the Prohladniy District Court in Russia announced the verdict in the case against Brother Arkadya Akopyan on Thursday, December 27. The court sentenced Brother Akopyan, a 70-year-old retired tailor, to 120 hours of community service based on the absurd accusation that he allegedly commissioned non-Witnesses to distribute extremist literature.

In the coming weeks, we anticipate a judgment on the case involving Dennis Christensen.
