Jehovah’s people seem as a group have always seemed quick to lend support , aid, and comfort to those in distress both inside and often outside the Congregation. The Russian letter writing campaign and the willingness of many to participate in so many forms of ministry ( foreign language , disaster relief, the Patient visitation groups, the HLC, prison ministry. . . ) attest to the willing and compassionate spirit of the people. And individuals.

Just recently a couple whom had been inactive for some time ( in Christendom I’m sure such would likely have been long forgotten due to the length of such inactivity) suffered a major health crisis which both became a Blood issue challenge and resulted in the death of the Brother.

Despite the long absence such an outpouring of love and support came forth from individuals and collectively from two congregations as to make one conclude that this couple had never been absent at all!  Access to a Kingdom Hall for services and a pitch in meal being really far more than might have been expected.

On a personal level, the surviving Sister has been much encouraged by other sisters in the local congregation some taking special interest in her wellbeing. Inviting her to dine with them, visiting her at their home.

Reflecting on these things , and although I have long experienced the unique degree to which such behaviors are manifest among Jehovah’s name people, I have a new appreciation for this quality among them.

Since 2006, JWTalk has proved to be a well-moderated online community for real Jehovah's Witnesses on the web. However, our community is not an official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or maintained by any legal entity used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We are a pro-JW community maintained by brothers and sisters around the world. We expect all community members to be active publishers in their congregations, therefore, please do not apply for membership if you are not currently one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
