Do any of you use this?

Recommended Posts

We purchased the SodaStream machine from Bed, Bath and Beyond and just love it. One of our customers told us about it and actually brought theirs in from home to demonstrate its use. It is wonderful and I highly recommend it. Since we have a lounge we spend a hugh amount of money on Red Bull (energy drink) which is quiet expensive. Since it is so costly we do not really make a profit on it because our customers won't pay that much for it. But with the Soda Stream you can buy a bottle of energy mix which tastes and even smells EXACTLY like Red Bull and the cost is a fraction of the real thing. Each bottle makes 12 liters of Red Bull and the concentrate is 7.99 a bottle. My husband is a diet Coke feind and since quitting beer over 25 years ago he got into the soda habit. He drinks a minimun of 2 cases (I am not lying) of Diet Coke every day. Now the diet coke concentrate is 4.99 a bottle and makes 12 liters too. The great thing is that there is a CO2 tank (very small) that fits in the machine and you exchange it out at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Since we are a small, rural lounge we can now afford to keep a variety of sodas and fill our customers requests. If the soda every goes flat from non-use ---you just add tap water to the bottle and more flavoring then recharge the bottle with CO2. It is unbelievable it works so well. We have had it about 7 months now and have saved about 700.00-800.00 in this short time. If any of you drink Red Bull or alot of sodas this is a nice thing to have. I hope none of you have the habit like Rick does. The machine was 89.00 and I had a coupon for 20.00 off so 70.00 was a real bargain!

It's probably great for your business and I can see why you bought it. I think it would be a bit much for home use though. I don't like to have my family drink alot of pop, and I can see that causing some issues with too much pop drinking. We do drink it, but not alot and I prefer it that way.

Sounds nice though and it's great you are saving that much money!!!!

Tim ---- Thank you for adding that , those co2 cartridges are 15.00 plus tax at BBB. WE JUST HAD A Dicks Sporting Goods store open up right across the parkway from BBB. The cartridge for the SodaStream is 14.5 oz and we exchange them at a rate of about 6 a monthso we will be able to save even more. THanks again Brother!

Hey Leslie, I just looked a little further into this and it appears that I mislead you---

The SodaStream web site cautions against using any other than their proprietary cartridges, siting purity and health concerns...

Also, used in a business, there seems to be some end-user agreement/licensing issues.

Sorry Sis, I shot from the hip before checking all the facts....(huh, imagine that)...:cowboy:

And I thought Chicago was the windy city!!:laugh:

I thought Whitehaven, Cumbria, UK Was! :whistling:

:lol1:

That is so true - we've had up to 90 mph last week. Our house, the most exposed on top the cliffs overlooking the sea, was the only one not to lose roof gutters and downpipes among our neighbours opposite and beside us. The sea crashed right over the harbour walls and lighthouses (see pic in article below) and dislodged 6 foot square sandstone blocks and the 17th Century harbour wall on one quay has sunk a few feet and been cordoned off. The local lifeboat spent a morning, when the wind had abated to 65 mph, battling the swells on the sea to rescue a trawlerman in trouble.
