Dr Lynn Rogers at Ely Minnesota bear Centre rarely drugs bears to tag them. He prefers to make friends with them. They have live webcams at this website http://www.bear.org/website/ though there isn't much activity at the moment as the bears are mostly asleep in their hibernation dens, but sometimes a female will give birth in the den and there's frenzied excitement and people blogging live online claim to be opening champagne and knitting bootees etc!

I like to dip in the website now and again and keep up with how they are doing. I like the biggest black bear ever known called Ted, who is hibernating there at the moment. He's a big tame softy.In summer they like to play around the pond with other visitng birds and chipmunks around them. See more cute and interesting bear video clips here:
