Brother faces up to 10 years in jail over "extremism" in Tajikistan

As far as I know, Tajik brothers have faced difficulties since the ban in 2007. Many travel to my home city, Bishkek, for conventions and assemblies every year. I personally know two sisters who had to flee persecution and abuse from the head of their family. They are now permanently based in Bishkek. Life is very tough for many Tajik brothers and sisters, especially because it is a Muslim majority country, which is often described as "authoritarian".  

 

This brother who is currently in custody has recently had a surgery on his leg, but the authorities are not letting him change his dressings regularly. He could be jailed for "inciting religious hatred" based on a bogus "expert analysis" by three imams of a Tajik Bible. Yes, that is correct. Muslim clerics analysed the Bible and concluded it is a threat to Tajik society. 

 

So maybe we should mention him in our prayers.

Of course, I ALWAYS try and mention the brothers and sister being persecuted.   Jehovah hears our prayers and will give them and theur families the power beyond what is normal.
