Found this Article interesting. As my children so far have had no major food allergies I’ve wondered what could be different. My guess it is that my Children went barefoot and ate dirt occasionally and always had dogs to cuddle.

It is possible that there is a rise in food allergies in western societies. They bring out a number of theories in this article, but one plausible one, I think, is that we are simply to afraid to let our kids get up close with dirt and microbes. Maybe a new “back to earth and dirt”-lifestyle will be the next hipster thing?

Funny! I’m far from being a Hipster but actually agree with the idea that some childhood dirt consumption may be of great benefit to the immune system.
