On Sunday, India air pollution was at unbearable levels. Air Quality Index measuring over 900 in many places, far exceeding the level of 25 deemed safe by the WHO, and well above even the 500 mark deemed “Severe Plus”.

Just a few months ago, we distributed this magazine world-wide.

In some parts of the world, the air are still clean, and the people still can enjoy fresh air. So maybe, to them, they would have thought the image on this cover was something that they would see on the movies or an exaggeration.

In the other parts, like in Asia, not so much.

My mother, some years ago, hosted some Japanese students ... one evening she went outside to find them both standing looking up, crying.

When she asked them why - they said where they were from, they couldn't see the stars ... the stars in NZ are beautiful. It's so easy to take what we have for granted isn't it?

That being said, more recently I've noted the increase of those wearing facial masks as pictured above becoming more and more frequent - in NZ!!

So that magazine is probably more applicable in more countries than it isn't now.

I remember Icewolf telling me about that. She also said they asked who lived in the house down the back ( the garage.... hahaha). The night sky here is beautiful. I would love to see the Northern Hemisphere night sky one day... different stars....

Latest readings on Air Quality in Australia has reached Hazardous levels capping at 999 at certain areas and is fighting with India for worst on Air Quality

http://aqicn.org/map/australia/

The smoke from Australia has been blowing into New Zealand and has reached very unhealthy levels, one level beneath Hazardous. Only one station is reporting this though, but its no doubt spreading everywhere.

And its only getting worse.
