What Not to do with Alexa

You can download Alexa app on tablets and phones and sync them to your Echo, etc.

 

I had Alexa on tablet  2 months ago and it worked so so with sound coming out speaker.

 

Now with an Echo Show 8, I reinstalled Alexa on my tablet and set it up today.

 

The Echo was in our bedroom where wife was having a snooze 😴

 

I was in the den with our 2 cats and I thought I'd have a short snooze while listening to some relaxing ocean waves white noise.

 

So tablet Alexa offered me a selection of ocean waves and so I chose it.

 

Never heard anything - thought audio wasn't working or not loud enough.

 

Thus I move sound slider in app to maximum and still didn't hear anything.

PETER  my wife screamed from the bedroom!

 

So I roared into bedroom and told Alexa stop music, unplugged and took Echo out of bedroom

 

to say she was Not Amused was an understatement.

I've never understood the 'convenience' of smart home devices, my phone and tablet both have front facing stereo speakers. 😺

Found out another thing Not to do with Alexa.

 

Was on cell phone in living room talking to my youngest son.

Told him about experience above

Echo show 8 still in the den down the hallway.😇

I said "Alexa play music" in my story telling. Darn if it didn't hear me and started playing music! 🎶  had to go in and tell Alexa to stop. 😃
