After a LOT of research and price comparisons and review reading,

I decided to purchase a couple of Core tents.

I found this Core 10'x12' Screen tent on Amazon for around $120, with

free shipping.

It arrived a few days back, but the blackflies were so ferocious,

I waited until this cold spell (we had 40 degrees this morning)

to finally put it up. It is one of those instant pop up cabin type tents and,

so far, I am really enjoying it. :D

I can sit and sip my coffee and watch the sun rise out of this spacious window:

And I won't have to keep swatting blackflies and mosquitoes while I'm sitting there. :D

Now, I am off to see if the Aurora Borealis is out tonight.

My hubby hauled our fireplace stove over from our old house and set it up right outside the screen tent.

My Core camping tent arrives tomorrow.

Can't wait to spend the night outdoors. :D

Drift off to the sounds of the coyotes and owls , and awaken to the birds singing a greeting to a new day.  :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Spending my first night out in my new camping tent.  It's a Core brand pop up cabin tent, too, and I just put it up today.

I pitched it close by the screen tent and the fireplace furnace.

It seems really cozy. :D

I can already hear all kinds of night creatures out there, including my nearest noisy neighbor who has been setting off fireworks for the past few nights.

I can pretend it's just thunder booms. :D

Well, tonight is living proof that it pays to research a product

before you purchase it.

Me and my new Core cabin tent  are currently going through

the remnants of Tropical Storm Crystobal and, so far,

the tent is still standing and I am still cozy and dry. :D

Me and the tent are that black teardrop thingy in the yellow below:

It is pretty scary at times, with really high wind gusts

pushing in the canvas walls, and the sheets of driving rain

coming down so hard and fast, threatening to tear through

the tent's rain tarp.

It is both scary and LOUD.  :D
