"Bath Salts" / Spice

OK the new job I am doing has me connected with the Business Licensing Depratment.

Their new concern is these new "bath salts" that aren't bath salts at all, but rather "incense". I put the word "incense" in quotes because they aren't putting these things in the room to make the room smell better. They are rapping it in cigarette paper or a pipe and smoking it. It apparently gives the same high as marijuana.

Many states are starting to jump on this new threat as "children" all across America are trying it and finding themselves in the hospital or dead. As it turns out - it is VERY hard to find yourself DEAD. Only a few have manged that (see Lazarus)

I grew up as a JW so I don't understand why this great need to escape. I loved and was loved by my mom & dad - so I never wanted to hurt them. I knew my God and NEVER wanted to hurt him either. Taking this does ALL of that - hurts mom, dad, family and our God. (2 Cor 7:1)

Stay clean and talk to your children. It is the smoke shops that are selling this stuff - legally for now. Although here in Nevada the state is adding this to the list of schedule 1 drugs to avoid an imminent hazard to the public safety. As a result of this order, the full effect of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and its implementing regulations including criminal, civil and administrative penalties, sanctions and regulatory controls of Schedule I substances are imposed on the manufacture, distribution, possession, importation, and exportation of these synthetic drugs.

Hi Jerry. I too grew up as a Jw what a wonderful life we have knowing Jah.

I stumbled accross this topic. its so concerning what influences there are for our kids.

I never heard of this drug. but i'm sure it will hit aussie shores sometime.

the other day on the news in Qld. a teacher had a bet for the students, to see who could hold the longest

bare hands. dry ice, this was on accurent affair. when the kids complained about the burning from the dry

ice he ignored them, or made fun.

My girls are now at school 1st and 2nd years. i worry for them.

can't wait til Jehovah steps in. you know i thank Jehovah for his protection/ warning of not taking drugs

when i went to school kids knew that i was a witness. so one day they thought they be nice and give me

a present, a cigarette in an envelope.

People putting powdered Cinnamon in their mouth and see if they can take the pain. As much as a ladle or cup full.

The powder Cinnamon can make you choke to death.

cinamon donuts, glazed pretzels or cinamon in coffee its hard to consume on its own

i heard its good for high blood pressure. so i had a go. its got same effect as pepper,

Well you said it right there. You grew up a JW so you didn't NEED to "escape" this horrible world like young people today feel the need to. Sometimes i think we take for granted what we have being raised as a JW. People in the world have no hope, parents are either doing drugs themselves or working too much to pay attention to what the kids are doing. There is a big problem in our area with the so called "bath salts", tons of kids ending up dead or in hospitals. Our area is very diverse, very wealthy and privileged to the very poor and it seems that economic status doesn't mean anything, children of both classes have been having issues with the "bath salts". It's so sad.
