Prosecutor's office seeks to declare Jehovah's Witnesses leaflets extremist

KURSK, March 14 - RAPSI. The Kursk Regional Court has started considering the prosecutor's office petition to declare five Jehovah's Witnesses religious leaflets extremist, the court spokesman Albert Aseyev told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

"The leaflets speak about general and spiritual issues. For example, one is titled How to prepare for death," Aseyev said.

He added that the court will now hear the witnesses to find out if the people who distributed the leaflets are members of Jehovah's Witnesses. The court is also expected to authorize examinations to define their possible extremist nature.

Pfft, typical... Picking up words here and there, making it look like something it isn't. Perhaps trying to stamp Witnesses as a suicidal sect, "How to prepare for death", yeah right... Rather where you can find comfort when someone you love dies.

When the general attitude in society is that beat the beaten it is very easy to join in. Somehow I don't feel it'd be such a surprise if Orthodox priests were behind this attack as well. Weird how in many countries where there is a strong Orthodox following our brothers have encountered many problems. Russia, Georgia, Greece, Egypt (Coptic Orthodox), Ethiopia, Eritrea...

To this David said: “What have I done now? I was only asking a question!”
