Breaking: The Final Airbus A380 Has Been Assembled

"The final Airbus A380 fuselage has been assembled. The assembly marks the end of an era as the A380 program draws to a close just 15 years after the aircraft’s first flight.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Airbus A380 assembly line is slowly drawing to a close. After all, we’ve known about the end of the A380 program for a year and a half now, with some A380s already having been retired...."

I heard they were pulling the plug on that. I remember a few years ago when the first A380 flew into Montreal (October 7, 2010). It was announced which runway it was going to land on, so I knew where to go to get a picture of it not far from my place. Although it's about 8 miles (13 km) from the airport, it'll give you an idea.

A friend of mine at the time worked at the airport, and showed me some up-close photos of it! (Too bad I don't have one to show you.) :o WOWW! That thing was BIG!! You wonder how it would ever get off the ground.

Only ten years in the air, and it's on the way out. It will still be flying for a while though.

CNN got a pic!
(CNN) — A magnificent beast made of four million parts from 30 different countries, the Airbus A380 is the world's largest passenger airliner, and its era is almost at an end.

Initial assembly has recently been completed on the last ever superjumbo, after it was announced in 2019 that the European airplane manufacturers were discontinuing the plane.

Qantas Embarks On Last International A380 Flight Until 2023

"... The airline is sending its fleet of the superjumbo to long-term storage in response to the current massive drop in demand being experienced by airlines.

Around the world, Airbus A380s have been grounded. While the majority of the world’s fleet was grounded around March 23rd, Emirates and China Southern are now flying around a dozen of the type. However, many more might likely never fly again. Indeed, earlier this week, it became apparent that Lufthansa’s Airbus A380s likely won’t return to passenger service. For the time being, the same fate hasn’t yet reached the Qantas fleet...."

"Yet". They are putting them in hibernation,...
